Lazio ultras put up a bunch of stickers inside the Stadio Olimpico of Anne Frank in a Roma shirt, obv hoping they remain there until Roma's next home game where they will find them.

As a result passages of Anne Frank's diary are to be read out before all Serie A matches at the weekend.

So Benevento have made a horrific start to their first campaign in Serie A. And then last night they were awarded and scored a penalty at Cagliari in the 94th minute. A point? Finally? The scorer is mobbed by his whole team and the subs.

And then Cagliari go straight down the other end and score a 95th minute winner, a brilliant header.

Benevento have now lost 10 out of 10.

Tbf they went bankrupt and had to start again in 2005, and have achieved back to back promotions from Serie C to get to where they are now. Didn't stop them sacking the manager who did that for them after just 9 games in the top flight.

Real 'big five' emerging in Italy, where Roma have won 8 and lost 2 of their first 10 games, yet find themselves only 5th and 7 points off the lead (Napoli, 10 wins and a draw). Fiorentina are 8 points behind Roma, in 7th place, having played a game more.

A thrashing 5-1 for Benevento at home to Lazio, they have now lost 11 of 11.

I posted about him on the previous page and even suggested him as a Stam replacement on the Team board!

Non Europe:

Until yesterday there was 5 points separating the top 7 in the V-League in Vietnam. 2nd place Quang Nam beat the team in 7th last night to go top and they now all have just 2 games to go.

The title race is now out of the top 4 who have 4 points separating them.

Next weekends fixtures are:

2nd Vs 1st
3rd Vs 4th

Mentz! (or fixed)

Unsure if the right place but..... watched an excellent documentary this afternoon on Gretna FC on Sky. It was titled the club that vanished and is an apt title. I distinctly remember watching soccer Saturday some 10+ years ago and hearing Geoff Stelling shouting "Kenny Deucher, the good doctor has scored again!!!". What a great (yet one with an unfortunate ending) story that team had.

Despite being just inside the Scottish border, they played in the English league system until 2002, reaching the Northern Premier League in 1992, and running Bolton close in the FA Cup a year later. They were accepted into the Scottish League in 2002, in the domestic cup final just 4 years later, and bust by 2008. Mental!

Apparently the first team in any of the major European leagues to lose their first 13 games of a season. Were previously tied with the 1930-31 Man United side.

3 of their defeats have been to goals scored in injury time. Sassolo actually missed a penalty after 91 mins but still found time to score the winner on 93'.
