I liked him when he first arrived on the scene at Newcastle.
So, sell Gunter to his old Welsh manager at Sunderland for a ridiculous fee and get this lad in -everybody is happy.
We get a proper right-back and some money and Coleman gets a player that he loves-sorted.
If only things were that simple.

Watching Celtic vs Rangers now and Tavernier has looked very good - would happily take him at Reading

A brilliant performance by the player in the Old Firm derby today, one that his manager would have been proud to produce himself.
Snap him up.

Always happy to get in good players, but is right back really our focus?

Putting aside my everlasting disappointment with Gunter's continuing insipid performances for a second, we've spent half of this season playing our best midfielder at right back because we've got one ok injured left back, a not very good sort of left back and an untested young left back.

Ideally, Watson makes a full recovery and either Blackett sorts his shit out or Richards gets an extended run and proves himself. That seems somewhat overly optimistic though. Failing that, we sign a quality left back obviously. Failing that we sign a right back and stay with Gunter on the left, but with Bacuna able to play in midfield now. It certainly wouldn't hurt giving Gunter some actual competition either.

So, personally. I'd say our focus should be:
1) Striker
2) Left back, or
3) Right back
distant 4) everything else
