The Watford Way/New Manager Impact

by poohs pure » 01 Jan 2018 16:37

So we all know that Watford have had 25 managers in the past 18 months, and that it hasn't really done them much harm, quite the opposite in fact. New managers 'tend' to have an initial impact, I think that's fair to say, so why not, get rid of Stam, bring in someone/anyone every 9 to 12 months then and watch us rocket up the league...

Yep. It’s worked well for Birmingham as well. And Forest. Sunderland are sitting pretty with their chopping and changing and Hull are laughing

As with most things, it’s all in the execution. Watford’s strategy is definitely unusual, but it’s incredibly well done; clubs around Europe and great players as well as a managers coming in.

What I do quite admire, is that when a player or manager is obviously not right, they get rid ASAP. I do wonder, however, whether if we had directors like Watford, whether Stam would still be here? My guess is yes, unless someone obviously better was available.
