Honestly? Pfuck knows. There are loads available but i think the two q's should be

1) who wants to come here
2) who would come here and make the club go forward?

We don't want a carlos carvahal type taking over who has gone there clearly to plan for next season in the championship.

I would have taken pulis 100%

Brum Royal Having been last night, I have now changed my opinion from undecided to Stam out, so time to reinvigor8 this thread. Who is available that we could realistically get in?

Can't think of anyone unemployed I would like here.

As for those in work I think Dean Smith at Brentford would be worth an enquiry and Parky seems to have found his feet with Bolton in the Championship. He is a club hero too which automatically will win some of the stay away fans back.

Wouldn't rule out a lower league appointment either. The young chap Nathan Jones at Luton is pulling up trees and is well spoken of. Very big risk to go down that low to get a manager but it might be just what we need.

If only there was a thread already running in R & G. then we wouldn't need to bump this one up.

Nigel Pearson wouldn't cost much, currently managing in the Belgian second division (Oud-Heverlee Leuven owned by his former Leicester employers). He knows the league well and more importantly how to get out of it.

If your suggesting that we shouldn't plan for next season in the Championship, your either in cloud cuckoo land or preparing for life in League One. There is no way in a million years we are going to be anywhere near promotion this season. We will have to win almost every remaining game to do it.

More chance of going to League One. We've been beaten AT HOME by Burton and now Birmingham. Burton weren't even in the football league when we were relegated from the Premier League in 2007/08 FFS!!!!!!

We just need another six or seven wins to definitely be safe this season. To that extent, we need someone short term to 'Fire fight'. If we were in less danger of going down, I'd like to see Gilkesy given a go until the summer. We'd definitely utilise wingers under him!

Nigel Clough (if its hypothetical)......the chance to manage a club not linked to his dad, or a club like Sheffield United who's fans would want your head on a spike if you had just won the treble but lost to Wednesday.

Back to basics, players need a rocket up there backside, someone who knows the division...

as said before - step forward Nigel Pearson.

Hound Paul Cook would be a good option. Don't know too much about his style of play etc, but obv done a great job at Wigan.

Again, whether he would come is questionable.

Portsmouth fans hated him. Described as Turgid and lucky to get them up on resources he had compared to others.

Gilksey was ineffective and crap at Basingstoke and I see nothing in that he would be any different at Reading.

I was all for Pearson when we sacked McDermot in 2016 before Stam was appointed. Pearson went to Derby and I thought they would be dangerous.

But his spell at Derby was an absolute shambles, so I'd be very wary of getting him in now.

Club chairman getting involved with the team, Pearson hot headed reacts = game over hence only 4 month stay. Call it a blip.

The main reason I don't want us to sack Stam is because people will suggest Nigel Pearson or Gary Monk would be a good replacement
