double d The list of good available managers is quite a good read. Most will not come but could also dream. There must be a few in here that can do a job:

Luis Enrique
Peter Bosz
Tomas Tuchel
Slaven Bilic
Frank De Boer
Ronald Koeman
Laurent Blanc
Paul Clement
Alan Curbishley
Mark Warburton
Paulo di Canio
Oleg Blokhin
Mike Phelen
Simon Grayson
Gary Monk
Billy Davies
Paul Lambert
Scolari
Brian McDermott

I think Aitor Karanka is also available although rumoured to be off to Forest

No Ian Royal option?

Graeme Murty might be available if they don't give him the Rangers job permanently - Can't see him going back to a coaching role.

bigmike The easier question to answer would be who couldn't replace Stam.

It would certainly be the smaller list.

tbh, the way we are playing, wouldn't be that upset to see Stam go with no obvious replacement lined up. Scott Marshall has done a decent job on the U23s, he would prob be caretaker

I think along with the aforementioned Smith and Jokanovic, Id take a little tour round Lincoln, Luton, Shrewsbury and Wigan to see whats the deal with each of the managers there. That would be a nice little shortlist of 6 to start with

I'm of the same thinking but perhaps giving Gilkesy the job until the summer. He's got the club in his blood and has that attacking mind-set Stam doesn't. Also very highly thought of at the club and being pushed towards that role for the future. Just a question if it's too soon or not. I suppose it's no worse than promoting your chief scout to manager...

Not the most ridiculous shout I've heard in all fairness...

I still would love Nigel Pearson to come in. If not then don't change the manager at all.

Whilst 100% agree...

Do you really see Gourlay, Tev or the owners visiting any of those clubs?

If it were to happen (I don't see Stam leaving unless we are deep in the sh!t), it will be someone who coaches the possession game, as all our teams right through to the academy have adopted the style. It will no doubt be a manager in the mould of Paulo Sousa, Aitor Karanka, although most likely on the cheap and from the continent.

Personally want Warburton and I’d even reluctantly take McDermott and that really does say something about Stam and his god awful tactics.

Not really, I suspect you are right and they would look to Europe again. Do think Jokanovic would be in their list though

Kevin Nolan is another who seems to be doing a good job In the lower leagues

Oh yeah, I forgot we are 10 points adrift at the bottom of the league....

Nailed on, lol. It would only take 3 wins in a row to move us back to relative safety, and before anyone says that doesn't look like happening at the moment, it didn't look like happening before we played Notts Forest and only dropped 9 points from 8 games either. Football can change in an instant.

I am warming to Craig Bellamy - would be happy with that - however first choice by a country mile is Nigel Pearson.

yeah but it'd only take 3 more defeats for us to be in the bottom 3.

And we look far more likely to lose the next 3 than win the next 3

I think the way Brentford play and set up we could be in for a hiding at home to them. I want Stam out but not at the expense of defeats. I predict a heavy one that day, possibly being the final nail in the coffin for Stam.

Ok well in that case Craig Bellamy can oxf*rd right off.

We will likely get a nobody from the Eredevisie or Bundesliga, much like Sheff Weds have just done. I'm sure most of them aren't pleased with that appointment.
