John Smith Superb signing. I think I put this in a 'Players you'd like us to sign' thread last season. Captain at Bournemouth and Villa - he's exactly what we need.

.

with Mcshanes long term injury confirmed I have to agree with this

lolz ...

Does that clown post on here? Anyone would think he was some miserable old sod dribbling into his Thermos of soup from the confines of the Lower West stand rather than a young man.

Somebody expose this fraud immediately

genome If we sign him we'll have have two Championship winning defenders in our central defence, managed by a Champions League winning central defender.

Imagine if we got relegated with that

Who is the other?

He's a very low risk signing and I'd say a fairly big improvement on McShane. Would be sensible to make Liam Moore the new permanent captain with McShane seemingly out for a considerable period.

I quite enjoyed this

Elphick: "I remember watching the game at Villa Park last year and we got absolutely battered for 90 minutes." #ReadingFC

Old Man Andrews With Elphick in the team it might give us to a chance to change the formation slightly. Possibly play 5 at the back with Three up, Two Down?

As per my earlier posting, you have to be of a certain age (for both of your cryptic postings).....and we are.

You have to be of a certain age to appreciate that one.

Indeed, I'm just glad there is someone of a certain age who does appreciate it. I'm wasted on here.

I was old enough to appreciate it on Page 1.

Let's hope he makes a better start than Upson did.

Apologies for not giving you the credit-I blame Norfolk for not picking up on it first.

BTW isn't it great when your club signs a player that you actually like.?
I felt the same about Barrow but might have to go back to McCleary and much earlier to Jamie Cureton for feeling that way before.
Possibly did about Grabban but after a couple of games saw that he had become soft since his bad injury.

Let's hope it's not a case of three up two down on his debut.
