Zip I thought Jaakkola was very dodgy. He was completely unwilling to catch the ball and he made two really poor clearances.

If you had seen him warm up before the Stevenage away game you wouldn't have been surprised.

At least he didn’t play the ball short from goalkicks or when he did it was done at speed. I didn’t feel comfortable with him in goal. He certainly doesn’t command the penalty area and his punched clearances often went to a Bolton player on the edge of the area which kept us under the cosh. It will be interesting to see if Stam keeps him in goal for the Leeds game.

At least Stam has shown that he has no time for players that aren't willing to play for the badge. A wake up call to all those extremely well paid journeymen. Holmes debut brings the total number this season to 6. For players from the academy to play for the first team . After end of last seasons clear out. One was left wondering. Perhaps there is a long term project behind the scenes. Last nights post interview was equally revealing. There does appear to be a method to the madness.

Last night wasn't great. But even players Clement stuck to their task. Against a far more aggressively physical team. Can only get better in time. As the players gain in experience and physicality themselves.

Likewise with 7 games in 29 days from the end of March. Perhaps Stam wants to get everyone in the best possible condition both physically and mentally before the run in. While we are clear of the zone. Little point in taking chances with a mish mash side. .

Firstly the players you are referring to I presume are Blackett Illori and Aluko
All decent enough historically, however Stam has totally de -footballised them!

Play to our strengths. Not the opposition. Stam has had 3/4 of a season to sort things out

What a load of rubbish"physically and mentally before the run in" THEY SHOULD BE ON IT EVERY GAME!!!

So they had a nice bonding week long session in Spain. Then have had a week off (Bolton played Saturday) Our players should be bouncing fit and ready!!!!
WTF ! Bolton looked much more lively than our demoralised bunch of cart horses.

How has Blackett been ok historically?

Utd usually give young players a chance once they break into the 1st team but offloaded him to Celtic on loan. They thought he was shit and then he came to RFC, where he has been consistently shit.

Did Sa , Vydra, and co work out........

Was at the game. It wasn’t good, we were bad and so were Bolton, but we were worse and lucky to come away with a point.

Just seen the highlights on sky sports - that first piece of play from Aluko - so lightweight, no effort, petulant, no passion. Absolutely terrible. A team with a player like that in is always playing with 10 men. Disgraceful effort, awful signing, waste of money.

Martin showed the odd touch of class but seemed to disappear. Keep forgetting we signed him - which says a lot!

Holmes did as well as Blackett or Ilori, with hopefully far more potential to unlock.

Gunter seemed too scared to make the runs he needed to be doing, but the only memorable bit of Edwards’ Performance was him screaming at Gunter.

Barrow is one of the only players who looks like he is up for it - and the only once who looks like he has the talent.

Clement did impress at RB, and he has gone into a couple of biggish tackles recently too which is nice to see someone has some guts.

Still, if I were to give rating’s Aluko would be in the minus numbers. Nothing about his performance does anything but anger me

Thought the same. Added to giving the ball away in very dangerous area where he shouldn’t even be

Aluko’s Reading career summed up in about 3 seconds that clip

He thought he'd been fouled - however then just jogging back when Bolton were attacking is unforgiveable.

yeah understood. but a) he hadn't been, and b) standing there whingeing whilst Bolton descend on our goal isn't a great reaction

Well quite. I'd be tearing back to win the ball and lump one of those cnuts* at the same time.

* Bolton's not ours. Although that would be tempting, as well.
