Hound There were plenty of other possible turning points as well though.

Bod's miss against Brizzle
Goal line scramble in the last min at home to Hull
Not holding out away at Forest
Not getting the pen in the last min at Millwall
Last min equaliser against Barnsley
Bacuna's penalty miss against Sheff U
Ruddy saving Barrow's effort at home to Wolves

Had any of those things gone our way, it may have changed the make up of the season.

True difference was, we were on a run up to that Cardiff game. We had taken 13pts from the previous 7 games including decent performances V Derby, Forest and Barnsley.

We were playing well v Cardiff, though riding our luck and at 2-0 up with 10 to go should have seen it out. Even after being pegged back, we should have won in the last minute. 16/24 and winning with backs to the wall, we would have been upto 12th I think as well, feels like it would have been a massive shift.

Felt like there was a hangover at Ipswich in the first few mins and we created some decent openings without finishing them off after their goal but damage mentally seemed to have been done.

Add the Fulham home match to all the above.

After the playoff final it was vital that we got a good start this season, and throwing away that win by conceding a sloppy goal was criminal.

Yes it was and felt like a defeat. It was an early sign that thebseason wasn’t going to go well. Fitness levels were not there at the start of the season which Stam is accountable for. Surely the very basic goal from preseason is to get the players fit for the new season

Snowflake Royal Survival countdown:

22 points out of 27 available required, down from 25 out of 30.

Another step closer.

22 points out of 24 required, gap down to 3.

Now it's squeeky bum time.

No, drawing with Bolton and Leeds really were good results.

I genuinely think we are now oxf*rd. We have zero momentum. Nothing will turn us around other than a new voice in the changing room.
Stam has had more than enough time. He has to go. I do not understand why he is still here. Must be down to money, pisses me off that were he to be sacked, we'd have to give him loads of cash.

If he had any integrity, he would walk.

17/21 required. Gap back up to 5. The squeek is eased slightly. Gotta follow up with some more decent results rather than another poor run like after Burton.

Remaining fixtures for us and the 3 Bs assuming the bottom 2 are gone.

Birmingham : Burton h, Bristol city a. Wolves a. Sheff utd h. QPR a. Fulham h.

Bolton: Derby a. Millwall h. Barnsley a. Wolves h. Burton a. Forest h.

Barnsley: Sheff utd h. Ipswich a. Bolton h. Leeds a. Forest a. Brentford h. Derby a.

While Birmingham look to have a straightforward game Saturday their run-in doesn`t look too easy.
Bolton have a couple of hard games coming up then they play Barnsley, they cant both win that one, then Wolves, but their last 2 games don't look too daunting.
Barnsley probably have arguably the easiest run in including Ipswich who appear to be in freefall now. you would hope that Bolton will win the 6 pointer there.

Didn’t realise Birmingham’s run in was so tough

Barnsley would fancy their chances in some of those games. Going to be tight

Basically the next 4 Saturdays will define our season, 3 at home and away at Sheffield Wednesday. 7 points could be enough. but we must bury our Saturday home hoodoo.
Whatever way this horrible season cant end quickly enough for me. just one month to go.

Looking at it - with an 8pt gap now to 21st Burton and Sunderland are gone. Either would need to win half their games just to get out of it and hope that none of Brum, Bolton or us pick up another point. They also play each other.

Depending on the results on Sat/Tues, they could be coming to us either already relegated or we could relegate them.

More likely though that they will relegate each other on the 21st April.
