Forest Gump At least 9 lost points are due to Stams deliberate fielding of a team without a forward to make a point about the “lack” of transfer funds.

alfie9 Did Bullivant or Burns take us to a play-off final? I think he's well past his expiration date as our manager but come on

Burns spunked absolutely tons given the comparative level and football inflation.
Was it £500k for Evers for example... our worst waste of money signing for a very long time, arguably more so than Fae and Halford who we at least got our money back on.

From Despair To Where? Ignoring frees, Burns spent
Fleck £50k
McIntyre £440k
Howie £30k
Gray £100k
Brayson £100k
Crawford £50k
McLaren £100k
Evers £500k
Sarr £158k
Forster £650k
Murty £700k
Kromheer £150k
Brebner £300k
Casper £300k
Gurney £100k
Barras £20k
Scott £250k
Smith £100k
That's £4.2m in 18 months, £3.5m of which was spent in League 1.
Bullivant bought Asaba for £800k and Hodges and Primus for £500k, Bowen (£200k), Legg (£65k) and Davies (£175k)

He spent a shedload but ultimately the highest outlays on Murty and Fozzy was money very well spent.

Not really under his tenure though as both spent very large periods out injured early on.
You can't judge Stam's signings on how they do under him and Burns' on how a couple did under Pards and Coppell.
And Stam has brought in some very good players.

double dankenySpot on.Forest Gump This is the worst Reading Team ever and Jaap Stam is the worst manager that we have ever had.
Discuss!
Someone wil have the stats to challenge me but given that he has been allowed to spend more on players than we ever have done I believe that he should do the honourable thing and walk.
It is not helping that he refuses to resign: not having a manager would actually help the team at this moment.
Again - discuss.
But for my money we should sack all the Fokkers.
( Fokker is of course a Dutch name):
I would struggle to find my own arse in the dark.

Why can't we give him garden leave until the end of the season. Bring in Mick & Ady to give back some of the belief and passion. We may just escape with the massive backing from the fans this would give. Sure as eggs is eggs if we don't we are down

Crikey. That game remains the nadir of my Reading supporting life. A terrible, terrible night for multiple reasons.
This is the shower of shite that Jaap is up against if he wants to take the mantle of Worst Ever:
