who do you want as the new manager

by Binfield Royal » 21 Mar 2018 11:05

I'll start off by suggesting we could do worse than get Pardew back since its obvious he wont be long at West Brom.

Get Coppell in till end of season (think Indian duties have finished) and then Murty take over in Summer when Rangers job comes to an end.

Failing that Warburton or Pearson in now.

Redknapp, I don't like him at all, but he'll kick the players up the arse

Obviously not available, but I would have Neil Warnock at the drop of a hat - in my view the best Championship manager all round and I love his soundbites.

Be bold, go after someone doing well in the lower leagues, not just the same old failures doing the rounds.

Try someone like Paul Hurst at Shrewsbury.

Nigel Pearson (currently in the Belgium second tier).

Warbuton, Coyle or Clement if after a free option with league experience (though not too positive)

For me

New and untried (therefore cheap)

Stephen Gerrard

or

Experienced (therefore expensive)

Martin O'Neill

But let's wait for a few hours for things to settle to see who leads the bookies charge

Agreed, the club needs some direction not just some journeyman manager in to steer the ship aimlessly for a few months.

See also Nathan Jones (Luton) and Dan Cowley (Lincoln).

Also quite like the idea of Frank Lampard, very smart man and if it's a choice between him and Gerrard I know which way I'd be going.

Mark Warburton as best of the rest.

Those are all terrible choices mate. Murty has come second in a two team league, Pearson's a psycho and Warburton has done nothing of note.

Paul cook for me. Plays attractive attacking football.

I'd like us to go with a lower league manager who has done a good job, such as Nathan Jones, Paul Hurst (prob my #1), Danny Cowley, Paul Cook, Gareth Ainsworth etc

Dean Smith as mentioned I like as well.

Whether they would a) leave their current club and b) be the right person to save us from relegation now is a toughie though

Ideally we'd get someone in to keep us up then look properly in May

I’d love Coppell to come back.
