In Martin’s defence he has had no service at all.

My guess is we didn’t especially want him and he didn’t especially want to come here (partly due to level of service he’d get). It basically went through as Sunderland were even worse than us and nobody else would pay the wage for him. And we were desperate for someone to come in

I don’t think it’s any great suprise How well he (hasn’t) done. I’d certainly put him behind Yann and Bod currently

No comparison to Bod when it comes to team sprit and motivating those around him. Martin's body language is one with a poor attitude, its everyone else fault. Bod plays for the team . He could be pulling out of challenges to avoid injury because he's going to the WC. 6 more points and send him back.

From Despair To Where?
Berry I was at the Derby v Bolton game at the weekend, sat with Derby supporters, they told me stories of the Clement shagging his missus story and that Reading can keep him, he has no future anywhere it seems.

Ive got friends who are Derby sth and they all say that shagging Martin's wife was the reason Clement got sacked and they are all praying we buy him.

Tbf if all the stories about managers/players shagging each other's wives were true there would be, errr, no point in getting married probably.

He isn't even slightly interested. Send him back up to play in Derby's under 23's, he serves no purpose here.

Clement wouldn't even have him on the bench if that was the case.

If he scores the goal that seals our stay in the Championship. I won't care what else he has or hasn't done. He'll have repaid every penny of his wages.

He has to touch the ball first.

We should stop loaning strikers. It doesn't work for us clearly.

I used to really rate Martin. Had a great record at this level and seemed to put in a shift but I'm over him now.

I didn’t see Grabban as a failure particularly. Didn’t score as many as hoped but he did help us get to the PO final etc

Strange that most on here would not have been happy with him signing again for us in pre season if I remember rightly

I would have had Grabban back all day long. If you play him in his natural position he will do the business at Championship level as seen with a struggling Sunderland team and now at Villa.

That seems like some selective memory to me. He played as a wide forward and it rarely worked.

Edit: to clarify I mean the second part seems selective. He was often slated on here.

Mainly because he isn't a winger.
