Four Of Clubs Mon 7th May BH
SLP PO King's Lynn Town 1-2 Slough Town – att 2842 Manny Williams winner on 89’ - start delayed for 1/2 hr to get the large crowd in.
Amazing day - it felt like a lot more than 2,800 there, with huge queues to get in, to use the 'facilities', and for beer/food as well. The Heras fencing between the sets of supporters was moved so that the gap was smaller, to give more space to the KL fans.
Good game, well contested, with KL shading the first 25 minutes then Slough taking control. In true Slough fashion, they really started to play once they'd gone behind, and for the remainder of the game former Royal Scott Davies was immense. Scenes when the winning goal went in, limbs everywhere etc. At that point, some unruly KL 'fans' decided to try and remove the fencing between us (maybe they wanted to celebrate with us?) and Norfolk's finest had to step in. Pandemonium at the final whistle as Slough fans staged a mini-pitch invasion, whilst the scrotes continued to try and demolish the barrier (and get round it) - they failed. By then, we didn't care.
Anyway, we were held back until gone 6:00, once the excitement (and the sound of police sirens) had died down. Apparently one of the supporters' coaches was bricked during the police escort away from the ground, but with only superficial damage. All back to Arbour Park, proper celebrations!

Have to feel a tad sorry for King's Lynn (apart from the scrotes), as any team scoring 100 points and not being promoted is bound to feel hard done by, but Slough were simply better on the day. Now dreaming of a trip to Torquay...
