From a guess based on figures in the accounts, I reckon we paid as much as 5m for him up front

I imagine a lot of the other add ons were promotion based, so not a problem there :)

I'm not sure his transfer would figure in any published accounts yet would it.

I might be wrong but pretty sure the last published accounts would be before last summer's transfer lunacy.

They had a note at the end saying they didn’t include the 16m or whatever it was in transfer fees since the accounts were written

Tbf the transfer activity bar Aluko wasn’t excessive spend. 2m for Mannone, 1.5ish for Bacuna and Barrow seem reasonable to good value. Ilori was overpriced but may still prove good value

Fulham's promotion or Reading's though?

Even if we let him go for free now on the basis his new club agreed to cover the remaining wages on his contract, I doubt we'd find any takers.

I hope Stam was responsible not only for this ludicrous signing but also the decision to send Popa out on on loan while Aluko was contributing the square route of fcuk all, bar one goal. If it was our DoF, he needs to consider his position.

It was these sort of decisions that were mostly to blame for the dire season we've just witnessed rather than any perceived lack of effort from a lot of dejected and, in my view, confused players.

We don't need and can't afford idiots who waste other peoples money in this way.

Coppells Lost Coat I'm still holding out that he'll come good. Probs more fool me than anything.

Just like those insane people on BBCRB who were ringing in right up to Stams sacking saying "he will turn it around, he will turn it around".

The Reverend
Denver Royal By the way, I thought it was poor of the Fulham 'exececutive' to come out with that in public. As in, 'Look at me, look what we fleeced them for, haha!'.

tbf, Hammond's dined out on 'half a million for Andy Hughes' for years

He should eat free for life for that deal as far as I'm concerned...

When Neil Warnock of all people says Nick Hammond drives such a hard bargain he could get blood out of a stone, then that's praise, bearing in mind he never praises anyone apart from Neil Warnock AND he's a tight arse Yorkshireman.

With Clement giving Popa the opportunity to impress hopefully we'll be seeing a lot less of Sone ALOLuko, a complete waste of space .. and money .. if ever there was one !

Bit harsh but he's probably on borrowed time.

To be fair to Sone he's looks like a confidence player and if he's in a struggling team he'll struggle badly. Hoping we'll see a much more confident team with a couple of leaders driving it forward on the pitch next season and therefore Aluko will look more like a £7m player than a £7 player.

Since Clement arrived, he has started Aluko in every single game, so we’ll see.
