Another rout, 4-0, Kane brace, one for Sterling (I know) and one for Rashford, the country goes into melt down, Theresa May announces that football is, in fact, coming home.

Apparently ITV’s win rate with England is only something like 29%. BBC’s is more like 60-something!!

I am really not looking forward to this one, I'm not ready for it to be all over and I have a bad feeling.

It doesn't actually mean anything fellas, just a pure coincidence.

If anything, it means we're due a win on ITV due to the law of averages

not feeling confident at all, but that may just be years of watching England oxf*rd up at tournaments talking.

looking forward to it though. win this and a severe dose of the fever will be on its way

Absolutely. Also, what’s the odds on us not winning a World Cup for 52 years? I haven’t punched the numbers but they’ve got to be astronomical. With this simple maths in mind I have been able to deduct that it’s coming home. It just has to be.

2-0 Colombia The usual inquest into the state of the national game. To many foreigners overpaid young players blah blah. Nothing will change, the Premiership starts again and all is forgotten.

When we win will the try-hards who are trying to claim that it's not coming home just star saying we've got no chance of beating Sweden or Switzerland?

pFuck 'em. 52 years of hurt is now over. Football is, as far as I'm concerned, home.

Nevermind that - I read an actual apparently genuine comment on a forum yesterday that was already denigrating any supposed success if we reach the World Cup final because 'we've got an easy draw'.

Ok, where is everyone watching this tomorrow? I have no interest in the town hall end of Friar street or Station hill.
