Agreed although Sweden have offered very little and England have looked comfortable

Little yes, but nearly all of it very good quality

Good solid performance from England just what was required and goals at the right times too which, I think, hit Swedish confidence the most.

Real good team effort, think all played really really well. Henderson, Trippier and Pickford stood out. And a special mention for Sterling to keep on causing problems.

Overall this is a team led by a manager well suited to international level football. Not quite the finished product and could do with a some extra midfield flair but they can only grow and pick up experience and perhaps, just perhaps might win something someday.

I'm not English and don't really care that much about them but for once, I can actually get behind an England team and it is all down to the manager. I like his positivity, I like his intelligence, I like the fact that he is open and honest, I like the fact that he has picked players that he trusts to do a job and not just because of who they are and who they play for, I like the fact that he is a calming influence yet can still show passion, I like the fact that he is very much the boss yet is clearly hugely liked and respected by his players and I like the fact that when he was appointed, everyone went WTF and he has proved them all wrong just by being tactically astute and an exceptional man manager.

he has built a team of players from a bunch of individual players

Whatever everybodies beef is about singing the National Anthem (I don’t really care)...but the whole team sings it these days....the teamwork and togetherness evidently starting even before the game.

Hats off to the man

+1

His England arch is the stuff of legend. I even forgive him for the pizza advert. That should be in the film they’ll make of this.

A strange game where Pickford made 3 match-saving saves and their keeper none and yet we were quite comfortable.
One point about the Russia v Croatia game is that Russia have 5 already on yellows and Croatia 8.
Whoever wins is likely to have a few out which is great news for us.

Regrettably the BBC commentary was a bad as most of those of ITV with Guy Mowbray asking Keown (that multi-capped international-10??) too often about his own games played which had no relevance to the game in front of us.
Also they have to elevate players so that everything they do is world class, e.g Trippier's crosses and free-kicks which look to me to be quite run-of-the mill.

Onwards and upwards.

Sterling still can't finish his dinner but that was a far improved performance from him. Alli also improved after the goal.

Trippier has been outstanding. Pickford has done everything you could ask and more.

I think everyone is in a agreement that Sterling is a bloody waste of space. people were up in arms in the pub.
