I get where that tweet is coming from, I'm just surprised TheSpread hasn't posted it on here already. However, the suggestion that Henderson is some sort of shit player is just more football ignorance frankly.

"He's no Steven Gerrard is he?" Love seeing that on Twitter when Henderson comes up for discussion.

No he's not, he's far more successful internationally and has contributed more in 30 caps than Gerrard did in 114 (arguably).

Different types of players.
Gerrard one for driving forward and making and scoring goals with not too much defensive responsibilities.
Henderson plays a bit deeper and has greater defensive responsibilities as well as getting moves started and pushing them along from deeper positions.
IMHO Henderson has blossomed this season and shown that he is much more than a workhorse and is now an integral part of both his club's and national team.

That isn't the point for a lot of people though, especially the Twitter fan. The fact they both play for Liverpool and both play in midfield is enough for a lot of commentators to compare them. Gerrard did nothing for me really for England though, certainly should have done far better than he did.

My prediction for the World Cup 2018 came to fruition last night. I said we'd get knocked out against a team in the 2nd tier of teams so to speak (Teams below Spain, Germany, Brazil etc).

The way the pundits and some of the fans were talking last night, they think it's a given we will do better at the next World Cup "That will stand us in good stead for future tournaments". I wouldn't be surprised if we didn't get as far, because I can't see another draw opening up as easy as it did for us. Galvanised the Country = Yes. Massive missed opportunity = Definitely.
