Gets asked every year, but why is it that no matter who our kit manufacturer, or sponsor, we always release our new kits weeks after everyone else? Do we get a discount for missing the rush or something?

I can't seem to find a release date for the new shirt. It's my nephews b'day in three weeks. Was hoping it would be out by then.

That seems unlikely. Last year the new kits were released on 22 July.

The club could and should either take influence from our kit when we moved in to the Madejski (20yrs) or our Simod Cup win (30yrs).

Can someone post those beauties on here please.

Thanks. I'll get him a club shop voucher then, so he can get it when it's released.

1998 shirt was hideous and not something that should ever make a comeback

1988 Simod shirt was good, nice to see that back as an away kit

Is there actually going to be a new kit this year or are we keeping the same kit?

Mannone put something on instagram the other day about doing a new kit release photoshoot with "coming soon" or something like that.

Coming soon....it's only three weeks until the season starts and all the new signings have had their photo's taken with the old shirt.

We say it every season but it's a shambles. Surely they're doing themselves out of so much money from sales? What's the reason?

Maybe it's because they know most Reading "fans" probably support Chelsea or Man. U, anyone else, so rather then release at the same time and force their customers to choose it makes sense that they release them afterwards so they could more feasibly buy both.

I like that version better then the more likely its just what they've always done.

That is quite possibly the reason why. Certainly makes sense

Kit to be launched end of next week with special offer of discounted ticket for Derby game with purchase of new shirt.

I am told again that the away shirt is "naughty".

Anything’s an improvement on the day glo hi-vis “jackets” of last season.

Anyone seen a hint of what the home shirts are like, surely an improvement on last year must be possible.
