royalp-we Seriously people THEY WOULD NOT HAVE TAKEN HIM TO BLOODY AUSTRIA IF TALKS ARE TAKING PLACE.

All the people claiming a fee is agreed. Its nonsense  Sunderland may have approached us; but for the figures being quoted we could loan him out for that amount

No, they wouldn't. If an offer had been made, we were considering it and we were negotiating; he would have stayed in England with his agent. We aren't Real Madrid where we can take players on tour at risk that they might leave in 24hrs.

Evans isn't leaving. Many say about us having too many CDMs. The difference is, Evans can play CB too and I think the club recognise that. The club have said they like players who can play multiple positions and having Bacuna / Evans / Ilori in that CDM role is great imo. Its pretty clear VDB is pushing for a move to Holland should his wage demands be met. Evans was on the bench today - no sign of Joey.

get real, he is going. The Sunderland chairman has tweeted that the bid has been accepted, and the Sunderland Echo says this:

The bid for Evans has been accepted, with the player expected to undergo a medical once he returns from Reading's pre-season tour in Austria.

Yeah he's out. Sunderland manager is now openly talking about him which is a sure sign he's off. Think League 1 is his level to be honest, its where he was first noticed by us.

Hope he does well there because their fans are a bunch of fickle, whinging tossbags.

Do our fans, when we're 10 points clear at the top of the table, start booing and walk out when we concede an 80th minute equaliser?

Do our fans tear up their season tickets and walk out on masse when we go 1-0 down after 25 minutes?

Would our fans mercilessly boo an 18 year old academy player if he scored an own goal on his 1st team debut?

When we beat them 2-1 up there in 2005, I remember getting confronted by a Sunderland fan with a broken bottle at a petrol station on the A19 near Middlesbrough a full 8hrs after the game ended because he wanted to have it out with me about the match.

Not going to get into a long fight about this, but would like to point out that, to an outsider, our fans booing our own players for being negative, during a season where we came 3rd would certainly come under the category of "fickle whinging tossbags"
Or calling a player a pedophile without any proven evidence.
Or celebrating a player's leg-break.
Or accusing Madejski, who has done more than anybody to save this club of "only doing it for attention".
Or singing "Spend some oxf*rd money" at him when he had pumped millions into keeping the club afloat.
A few more games of Stam, (or Nige, before he went) and I'm pretty sure there would have been mass walkouts, regardless of the score. One more backpass, and we riot, etc.

For a number of these, they are understandable (although not necessarily right) because of what had gone on previously. But that's my point - what seems reasonable within a fanbase can seem like complete twattery from the outside.

As for criminal behaviour, no fanbase is immune from that, just like no nationality, race or creed is immune.

That may all be true but unlike Sunderland, we don't claim to have a loyal and passionate fanbase

A oxf*rd men.

we used to be different when it came to patience lack of moaning, but that's long gone.

the treatment of madejski was terrible and is probably what tipped him over the edge into selling up
and that is what has got us in this mess in the first place.

Compeely agreed about Madejski, Al lot of our fans have very short memories.

However, at least we don't sing songs celebrating a convicted sex offender.

He didn't play in friendly yesterday... so that would suggest he's leaving or might be leaving and club doesn't want to risk injury.

Tough times at Sunderland. They're waiting for us to fly him home as they can't afford to pay for his air fare themselves.

royalp-we Seriously people THEY WOULD NOT HAVE TAKEN HIM TO BLOODY AUSTRIA IF TALKS ARE TAKING PLACE.

All the people claiming a fee is agreed. Its nonsense  Sunderland may have approached us; but for the figures being quoted we could loan him out for that amount

Do you feel a bit stupid? Because you certainly look it.
