Sutekh Tim said on BBC Berks that a well placed source within the club told him that the owners looked to sell the club last December. That is all that was said. However if that is true then it would rather suggest that while the current owners are supportive of the club and will back the management, they could suddenly manage to sell up and yet more instability and questions will follow.
Also Royal Elm Park has been approved by the council, however the council are insisting that the housing should be built BEFORE any retail elements so that may well dampen the enthusiasm of the Thais to proceed.

I think Tim has more contact with "insiders" at the club than other local journalists have, so it could well be true. Would that also explain why the owners are not forking out so much money, this summer. No, I am not knocking the owners, as I think they have put a lot of money into the club, but this summer signings seem well down on value of last years. Mind you that may be because they got their fingers burnt for no promotion before. Couldn't blame them really.

Agreed. But its a worry that we haven't really strengthened the team that much. Based on last season and our current squad it could easily be a relegation fight again, as tipped by a lot of sources. We really needed a target man for Baldock to play off and another creative midfielder. So far we have probably spent less than £3- £4m. If we get relegated the club will be worth a lot less so the Chinese owners should bear this in mind.
