Hound Colin crossed my mind as well
Not that I’d want him in as such - but I do think we need to somewhat do what Cardiff did the season he took over
A lot of the players do seem to need a bit of an arse kicking from the management. I look at people like Meyler and Aluko and wonder what motivation they have to do well. They are already rich, coming to the end of the careers - can they be bothered scrapping it out at a half empty Mad Stad? Evidence suggests not. Then you have the younger Kelly’s and Swifts with big fat contracts earned on half a season of decent form. Again do they know how to really scrap?
I’m not sure it’s a huge coincidence that Meite is working his backside off despite his limitations - and is in the last year of his contract. Likewise to an extent Blackett, who has started the season ok
Clement needs to find and consistently pick the hungriest looking players and keep a system which they know and can play with.

What about big Mick? Cheap and available and would more or less guarantee survival.

The members of the cult of Stam would have a heart attack if Mick came in. "Doesn't play the right brand of football" or some shit.

Reading4eva I'd pick up big Mick and deliver him to the stadium myself. I like him as a bloke and he will get us out this mess

Its evident the Chinese have money and lots of it. However what's also evident is they are trusting an idiot in Gourlay to spend it.
It's like me handing you my bank account, asking you to build me a house and you buying a load of jam jars. The Chinese are trusting the wrong man. If they want the right man, Nicky Hammond is available

CountryRoyal Honestly, realistically no one. We’d need a really good man manager and motivator and then still 3 or 4 actually good players. In this league once you string a few wins together it’s relatively easy to build up a bit of confidence and a winning mentality to carry a limited team a long way. Look at Cardiff for example. Organisation and work ethic combined with a couple of quality players go a long way.
I do like Clement I do, but every shroud of evidence - anecdotal or self-observed has suggested that whilst he’s a very accomplished coach and assistant, he hasn’t aptly demonstrated adequate managerial ability to suggest he is the right man to either keep us in this division, or get us up from the one bellow.
