Certainly better than last year

Yes, people seem to have forgotten how shit we were under Stam

I can't find any stats last year for shots per game, but we had the lowest percentage of possession in the opposition final third and greatest percentage of possession in our own defensive third in the whole division, 3rd in the possession stats. We were 20th on Goals For as well.

This season so far we're 7th on own third, 21st on opposition third,10th on goals scored, 18th on shots per game and 15th in possession.

So we're scoring comparatively much better, spending more time attacking, and less time fannying about at the back putting ourselves under pressure. All things people wanted an improvement on. That's not to say that we're not still shit. Or Clement is doing a good job. But it is better on the pitch.

And we're really not a great deal worse off than we were this time last year.

After 6 (?) new signings in the Summer and our manager having a full pre-season I think we had rather hoped to be in a better position than this rather than "not a great deal worse".

No shit. But then we were in such a diabolical place by the end of the season (far worse than we were at the start of last season) it was always going to take a long time to turn it around, and possibly only after a relegation.

No danger of that. How could anyone forget? Every day in here there are comparisons and references to Stam.
Not sure it’s relevant. Very low bar. 1st year mgr, short tenure, good first season (which nobody references). Bad partial 2nd season, so let’s key in on that for a metric and try to come up smelling like roses.
Unless one is trying to bail out Clement, really don’t see how Stam, at his juncture as a mgr, is really of much reference for anything as it relates to Clement.

Can honestly say I’m 30 odd years of watching football, last season without the doubt the least entertaining I’ve ever seen a side perform. We were abysmal. Really really bad

I’ve quite enjoyed the games this year. We’ve scored goals, looked like scoring goals, only to constantly shoot ourselves in the foot game after game.

Been frustrating rather than boring

In a way I know 3xactly what you mean. Last season watching games was painful throughout. This season it's only painful at particular (and predictable) times.

I feel the same frustration for the players for not living up to their obvious quality much like last season. But I feel cold fury towards Clement for doing (from what I can see) absolutely nothing to stop the rot.

The games themselves have been moderately entertaining, I have no complaints when it comes to value for money. Anyone suggesting it is anywhere near as when that bald fraud was here needs their heads checked.

Noticed that utter bell Mafff is spouting his Stam In shit again along with the Milky Bar kid from the Tilehurst End. How lonely are those two?

You have got to have literally nothing going on in your life to do things like that. It is seriously sad.

Perhaps it's a relevant reference because Stam was working with largely the same squad and within the same overall environment that Clement is. There is nobody else who has done that so it's about as relevant a reference as there is.

These are the same people that mercilessly abused the second manager to ever get us to the Premier League and they cry about, "pre-pubescent jumped-up cretins that boo'd him(Stam) and chanted abuse from the sidelines".

How has he got this cult like following, starstruck by name recognition from his playing career? He got us to the play off final but that still doesn't explain their intense idol worship. They can't have enjoyed the football he was serving up.
