Surely it is much more likely that Tevrenden will return from exile than Hammond will Return ?
Hammond is still at WBA. Isn’t he ? So we’d have to persuade him to leave a job for one wherehe’d Probably be paid less and potentially have to pay WBA compensation (although depends on his employment status obviously)

doubt BT would go from being CEO at Roselare or whatever they are called, to back to his old role either

If anyone on the planet can sell Sone Aluko for a fee it has to be Nicky Hammond. He is the only answer when it comes to clearing our deadwood, he is the best at it.

I suspect that will stretch his abilities to the absolute limit, but would be worth employing just to give it a go

Wow, tough on Hammond to have been sacked twice by the Baggies ! Obviously makes his return rather simpler.
Still think Tevrenden is obvious. He was clearly moved because he didn’t fit with Gourlay but not sacked so the owners must think well of him. He knows the club.

BetVictor have got Ian up at 25/1, which I think is extremely generous.

Interesting everyone welcomes Howe as the smart sensible choice and how he’d get the club back on track, yet then turn around the next day and roundly criticize the first move he makes (Clement).

Pandoras Box Just love the ambition of RFC supporters. It seems that our ideal prospects are:
1) managers unsuccessful and struggling in the Prem.
2) managers struggling with teams at the bottom of the championship
3) anyone else that’s out of a job due to being unsuccessful elsewhere (and usually a journeyman with unsuccessful stints behind them).

Clement?

genome My biggest fear about a new manager is that Rinomhota and Loader will be relegated back to the bench/reserves. That's the one thing I was warming to Clement about, giving them a chance. Marshall would guarantee their place in the side is safe I guess.

Doubt any players place is guaranteed, esp with a new manager. Not even convinced Clement would have guaranteed anything with those two once everyone was back from injury. Does Loader get in once everyone is back and fit up front? Rino was helped by Eza's absence.

as always there is so little money on any of them that someone putting 50 quid on any of them would probably make them favourite.
that said, at some point the truth always gets out and one of the interchanging favourites invariably becomes manager. Are we at that point yet ?

I've stuck a tenner on Slavisa at 14/1 and a tenner on Scott Marshall in case his temporary reign goes incredibly well.

Woodcote Royal
Brain Traysers
Zip I don’t think those stats are too bad especially as he has spent much of the time managing bigger clubs than us and often in the top flight. Therefore you really can’t compare our net spend with the net spend at the club’s he has managed.

To me it shows he has achieved average results at big clubs with a lot of spending (2 promotions, 1 playoff loss, 2 relegations). Taking established mid table in prem Sunderland down and failing to get Villa up with a budget way above anyone else in the league is not an impressive record. In only 3 of those 10 seasons he finished higher than the previous season (or where he took over), and 2 of those followed a promotion...
What would he do with no money to spend?

Why are you and others convinced our new manager will have no money to spend?

Yep, don’t know how people know this. We barely know our owners, let alone how much they will spend. And its conceivable an experienced manager like Bruce would command and be afforded a bigger kitty.

Winston Biscuit
Snowflake Royal Clement - 30 given a huge rebuilding job with limited resource and then dumped because he couldn't wave a magic wand
Stam - 98 false third and master of his own demise
McDermott - 30 totally shafted and treated with no respect
Clarke - 53 never committed and made to look good by a Blackman purple patch
Adkins - 80 ruined by the Russian shyster's lack of support
McDermott - 169
Rodgers - 23
Coppell - 282
Pardew - 211
Confidence inspiring that we'll get the right guy, plus give them time and support to improve.
I give the new guy between 15 and 40 games before he's sacked.

Listened to a podcast recently which discussed the effect a new manager can have and the stats to back up the 'bounce' effect and they said it shows if a new manager doesn't get the desired reaction from the players and a change in performance in his first 8 games you should get rid and start again

Sean Dyche said the other day he thinks footy’s future will be one of constantly rotating managers with year-long tenures.

they have a better record on spending money than anyone else in our history, so I reckon they'll fund changes
