Victor Meldrew
Hound I'm still more than a bit surprised with PC's departure at that time.
He was hampered by some horribly timed injuries in Bod and Eza as well. Genuinely think we'd be up with Preston and Wigan if those two had been fit

As fans we always feel that if so and so were fit and if we had a bit more luck and if the ref hadn't been so biased etc., etc, all would be well.
We are where we are in this division and the 2 teams that you quoted have ironically both had horrendous injury problems so their fans will think that if so and so had been fit etc., etc.we would probably have beaten teams like Reading rather than draw 0-0.

As I recall, last season either Bod, or Yann, or both, were injured right up til around Xmas time. Yep, it happens.

OTOH, one could say that injuries to Bod and Eza have helped Loader and Rino to emerge (and also Meite, really).

Ah well - he looked promising but it would've been a big and expensive gamble.

Jokanovic is still winning my vote.

Esp if we have money to spend, it’s an absolute no brainier imo

I like what Ainsworth has done for WW, but it’s be a huge gamble and step up for him. If we went down maybe

Paul Hirst didn`t handle the step up too well did he?

Awful example to use and an exception to the normal rule.

Chris Wilder did.

Paul Cook has.

Frank Lampard hadn't even managed before.

Jaap Stam hadnt managed before.

Paul Warne is holding his own at Rotherham.

Lee Johnson has done reasonably well at Bristol City.

Daniel Farke has Norwich flying at the top of the league.

Can't agree on the bolded managers - taking a side up and managing in the Championship with your own squad that you've built at a lower level is a different job entirely than coming straight into a struggling Championship side with low confidence players. IMO.

If Hurst had taken Shrewsbury up last season I think he would've fared better at this level than he did with Ipswich.

I was answering more directly to his point that Hurst as a manager didn't handle the step up purely as a manager. I get what you're saying though and agree.

The money's coming for Parky. Hopefully purely speculative.

7/2 from 25/1.
