This but Swift for Baker and Barrow for Meite (for a few games at least)

I am including Baker on the assumption he has something in the loan deal stating he has to play if fit. I think he and Swift are largely the same player though so completely interchangeable. Meite I stuck in just because of his physical presence and he would be decent when defending corners or set pieces.

think this may account for the rinomota move to RB tbf.
that was the only area where gomes was less than forthright when challenged by dellor

Although surely the odd thing about that was more that he didn’t play Bacuna at rb, where he has played a number of times for us and keep Rino in the midfield role ?

I have said/thought similarly, but maybe, in training, the manager looked at the better/best MF combos.

My reading is that Gomes pinned the team sheet up with Bacuna at rb.
Bacuna saw it, ripped it down, stormed into the office and told Gomes there was no way he was getting stuck in defence and unless he played in midfield he was going to sit on Gomes’ desk and hold his breath.
Rino walked in the office and said to Gomes that he didn’t really mind where he played and he’d give rb a try
Gomes typed up a new team sheet.

I can see the logic in why he started Rino at RB. Wanted to involve Baker, Bacuna has been playing ok, and Rino is a competent RB

Obvs it was the wrong decision in retrospect. And probably one that won't be repeated

He's looked better, but still not actively great IMO. And it'll take more than a couple of decent performances and a goal anyone should have scored to override the 18 months of absolute shit he put in.

Plus he only covers one position so he's no good for the bench.

Rino has the curse of being able to play in more than one position to a better standard than other options.

Ezatolahi hasn't been sent back as yet as I would suspect Gomes wants to see him in training and as we can have 5 loanees in a squad, no major issue with having 6 if all fit. There will be times when it makes sense for him to be in over say Baker and times when he will sit out.

Ilori is very unlikely to play again I would say, not sure Miazga would be here if Ilori was staying.

The XI he picks will change depending on opposition but my feel is that the default team (when fit) would be:
