They clearly like us

That is genuinely one of the weirdest threads I've read. Nearly everything they've quoted on the Reading site says they are a good side, and it will be a very tough game - with a bit of self-deprecating about some poor predictions. And their response is just a load of abuse. Very odd, clearly a huge northern chip on shoulder thing

The bit I liked most was when they referred to Reading as not a football town.

What does constitute a football town? I guess it has to be Northern as that is where all the 'real' clubs and supporters are

As I understand it a football town is one where the only sliver of respite from a life of depressed drudgery and poverty is going and watching some dirty cloggers kick a ball around something that looks like a ploughed field.

Reading's not a football town because its inhabitants have prospects and other interests.

Hound And all the wannabee "hardnuts" are 14 year-olds from the chavvier suburbs, who like referring to their local area as "da ghetto, innit?". It's not Compton FFS, it's Berkshire.

Haven't they checked a map?
Respec to the RG20 massiv bruv.

Well, they’re right about (only) one thing: It’ll be a bit harder for their silken team than it would have been a month ago.

URZZZZ Bit disappointed we haven't been called tinpot yet, that's usually the first insult we get

They're just a bit uneducated bless them, it's not their fault they've had to spend their whole life in that dump

The plastic one has been wheeled out though, and even a comparison with MK Dongs, so I think they have covered most of the bases. There is always some special bellendry from a fan of the opposition that is exiled in Berkshire and close to us, this week it is Berkblade.

As I predicted earlier in the week Barrow starts.

Really not sure about that team, no Blackett or Aluko anywhere and Swift dropped/rested

No Swift. Kelly starts Lots of tinkering by Gomes.

Swapped the wingers again. Clearly a strategy of Gomes

Not really happy with Kelly in CM but then I never am. Otherwise a half decent line up. It’s all about the back 5 and Oliviera really anyway

I actually like that on the whole.

Not keen on yet more lots of changes. Harsh on Swift and not keen on Richards over Blackett even if Tyler didn't have a great last game.

Sheffield United: Henderson, Stevens, Fleck, Hogan, Egan, Madine, Norwood (c), Freeman, Duffy, Johnson, Cranie.
Subs: Moore, Lundstram, Dower, Sharp, Coutts, McGoldrick, Stearman.

Reading: Martínez, Yiadom, Richards, Moore (c), Miazga, Baker, Kelly, Barrow, Ejaria, Méïté, Oliveira.
Subs: Walker, Gunter, O’Shea, Swift, McCleary, Harriott, Böðvarsson.

Presuming Blackett has the mystery illness/injury for this week.

I’m ok with it. Swift will surely start next Saturday. I am happy with the other changes as Blackett really is a liability and Aluko was anonymous against Blackburn.

I'm guessing there were a couple of knocks from the midweek game. Just to stop some of you going into meltdown and not being able to realise players get injured.

If he's determined to switch up the attacking three in midfield every game, I'd really prefer he picked two sets and just alternated them.

So for example:
Barrow, Ejaria, Meite

Harriott, Swift, McCleary

Rather than this constant merrigoround of many combinations and no continuity.

If anyone realises players get injured its Reading fans ffs, every game we have at least one mysterious injured player who's missing unexpectedly.

Presuming that their Norwood is our very own Oliver. And captain too.

Blackett provides good defensive height at set pieces.

I normally agree with what you say but that's utter rubbish IMO, Blackett has been one of our better players this season, I would put him in my top five straight away TBH. He had a poor game on Wednesday but so did Ejaria and he still plays. Blackett is no where near Ilori level of liability  know how much you liked him

Yep. He's been excellent this season. One of the best in the Champ.

Shame we didn't appreciate him and surrounded him with shite.
