Victor Meldrew Another Chelsea youngster.
I didn't go to Ipswich but was the younger Chalobah any good?
Asking for a mate and thinking ahead to next season, if we stay up.

Didn`t go but when ever I`ve seen him, including down here earlier in the season he strikes me a decent player...pity about the hair though.

He looks like (with the hair) a poor man's Pogba but , I agree, he looks a decent player who may well never play for Chelsea again.

Hound God that was lucky. Will take it of course. Huge bonus.

Wigan look pretty poor. Everything goes through their #12 James who was a class above everything else on the pitch. Mind you Derby gave him all the time in the world

Do you think our coaching staff will have seen that and made plans for one of our tough-tackling midfielders to mark him out of the game?
"Tough-tackling midfielders"..............................oh.
Well, on to plan c.

Ha, Id certainly hope so. Don't necessarily need a tough tackler, just someone with lots of energy to limit his time on the ball and press him. Swift or Ejaria could do it. Keep the ball away from him and out to the wings.

He'd be a great signing for us next season imo.

No way could Swift do it. He' be too busy swanning around admiring his own flicked passes.

Theres few players Id say are less high energy than Swift. He couldnt track someone with support from Norad.

think thats such a lazy impression of him. Regardless of what comes off, he works hard.

I can`t really believe what I just saw . Jack Grealish physically assaulted by a fan that ran into the pitch.

Does he fcuk. He’s slow and ill disciplined. On the ball he overplays and off the ball he lets the game go past him.

That’s not contradictory with saying he works hard though

That was pretty horrendous

First time is saw it I thought Tyrone Mings came in and stamped on the fan. That would have been comedy, unfortunately he just put his foot next to him

Yes it is. He fails to work hard on the dirty stuff. He’s a passenger in midfield.

Well that I disagree with. He actually did do a half decent job of closing down James yesterday.

We've been crying out for such a player like this all season.

Really? Our midfield was awol yesterday. Not his fault entirely however McCleary is way past his best.

Thought the midfield all did ok defensively but were very poor going forward (though Baker was the best of them by quite a margin)

They gave Wigan little time in the ball but then were unable to cope with Wigan’s midfield at their ankles

Anyway, all see it differently but should prob keep this to a ‘Rivals’ thread...

I’d love to see him here next year. Proper shithouse and will only get better. Didn’t think his set pieces were up to much but as a DM - very good

Hard to judge him, he spent too much time on the floor feigning injury.

Very true. He went down very easily when in possession but clattered into our players every time we had the ball
