I'd take a chance on Pawel Wszolek and Bradley Jphnson

Nick Blackman's out of contract - 23 appearances, 1 goal for Derby 2016-19, or something like that. God bless Nicky Hammond, he did good there.

Conor Washngton (Weren't we in for him a couple of years ago?), Martin Olsson and Leroy Fer for me.

I'd be absolutely stunned if Westwood isnt playing at Wednesday or a team higher next season.

I would be happy with any of the below, any that are over 30 1 year contract with an option to extend a further year

Villa
Tommy Elphick

Bolton
Mark Beevers
Josh Vela

Brentford
Yoann Barbet
Lewis Mcleod
Josh Mceachran

Ipswich
Jonas Knudson
Jordan Spence

Milwall
Conor Mclaughlin

Norwich
Todd Cantwell
Timm Klose

QPR
Darnell Furlong

Rotherham
Anthony Forde
Ryan Williams

Sheffield United
Paul Coutts

Wednesday
Gary Hooper
Liam Palmer
Keiran Westwood

Swansea
Leroy Fer
Luciano Narsingh

Wigan
Callum McManaman
Nick Powell

Wayne Routledge?

Better record than Leroy Fer and an upgrade on McCleary. Seems to still be playing plenty of games consistently.

5 years older that Fer though and 3 older than McCleary.

After the experience of the past few years, I'm anxious of experiencing journeymen looking for their next pay check. I hope Howe and Gomes grill the character of any potential signings to ensure they have the hunger and fight; why were they released from previous clubs?

There can be good reasons and bargains to be found, but free transfers are not risk free.

Elphick is known as a model pro so could be keen, but how good is he on the ball? Will he fit in with Gomes' style? McEchran is an interesting one. Once very highly rated but it hasn't worked out. Could the right manager unlock his potential? Barbet will move up from Brentford in the football hierarchy, not to us. Gary Hooper fcuk no.

I would like to throw two names into the ring, before I do a hasty retreat and await the explosion.
Blackman and Pearce.

Jonathan Low has just suggested Reading try and convince Petr Cech not to retire. It’s going to be a long summer!

Pretty underwhelmed by the lot tbh, be surprised if we signed any of them

Well, precisely. I could see him as a decent replacement for Swift but we'd have to sell Swift first and by the time that happens, if it does, Powell will be signed somewhere else.

Pearce would be a decent signing but he's the absolute antithesis of the type of CB Gomes will be after.

I still think we might see Nelson Monte joining from Rio Ave. Gomes knows him, he's out of contract and apparently West Ham were looking at him last year.

1) Coutts
2) Barbet

That's it.

This sounds like a great shout!
