Ascotexgunner What a strike!!!!

The third goal is the type that prolly gets saved in men's football

It's over the height of the keeper's outstretched hand but under the crossbar

i'll put that down to sunstroke...

the average prem keeper is 6ft3, Bardlesly is 5ft9 and Hjelmseth is 5ft7

average 6ft man has a reach of 8ft which luckily is the height of the crossbar

Good job Lionesses. Next up the winner of the France-USA game. It doesn't get any easier...

The overall percentage of goals scored from penalties is now going to rocket because of VAR, and that will be a terrible outcome.

More penalties awarded, fewer saved, and many of those that are saved will be retaken until they are converted.

Whole training sessions will be based around aiming for the hand as soon as you get in the penalty area. Don’t bother trying to make space to get the cross in, just hit it early straight at the player’s arm. A new way to become MVP.

Tragic.

It sounds a bit harsh and radical but it is probably a valid point. In womens cricket, they bring the boundaries closer.

Zammo I'm not convinced by this England side at all, or Neville as a manager. Obvs hope they win 'for the country' but i'll be backing against tonight.

lol

I got that badly wrong ffs. I thought En-ger-land had looked pretty amateurish thus far, but that was a proper professional display. £20 i'll never see again

This is team seems to be very much like the men's last year. Look decent going forward and likely to score goals but can a bit flakey in defence at times that you worry will get exploited by the better teams as the tournament goes on.

then of course there will be the youth game, typically U13s who play on full size pitches with full size goals, anon anon

Never played on a full sized pitch playing youth football or cricket and I am sure the goals were about 75% normal size.

Just seems a bit harsh for me. Almost penalising them for being smaller.

We played on full size pitch/goals all the way through from U11s (first age group). You had to feel for the keepers getting chipped when they were stood on the goal line.

Similar in WNBA - smaller ball, some court dimensions different.
