That’s a little bit surprising.

The Dutch team have consistently been one of the best supported during the tournament that, coupled with the less-than-successful mens team (of recent years) and the liberal and accepting attitudes of the Dutch folk, I would have thought that it would be front page news there.

I viewi these games with a bit of stand-offish interest, and as already said......any football is better than no football. C’mon the orange!

No doubt there will be jubiliation if they should win it but there's not been the packed bars and orange decorations that would accompany the Men's competition.

She was looking at the ball the whole time. She went to clear a ball that was in the air. The player came from the blindside and chested the ball away BEFORE the dutch player hit her... which she couldn't NOT do because her foot was in the air.

This entire world cup has been an advert for why VAR should not be in the game.

I don't know which team is scarier in terms of dominance the US Women's National Soccer team or the US Women's National Basketball team (many of whom I am quite familiar with having played their college ball at the University of Connecticut). For the Women's game to progress, they should look at having a mini tournament of the minnows, with the top 2 or 4 going into the main qualifying competition proper, similar to the Men's T20 World Cup a couple of months ago.
