CONFIMRED - Matt Miazga

by WoodleyRoyal » 22 Jul 2019 12:58

our friend Courtney has said we have put in a loan bid for him - cant see it after signing Morrison

Hat back on...I’m also told #readingfc have made an approach to re-sign Matt Miazga on loan. Also being tracked by a Turkish side. Reports of Fiorentina bid are ‘inaccurate’. Think they have enough cover imo and would put MacIntyre in trouble first-team wise. Watch this space...

McIntyre would go out on loan, no 2 ways. A season playing in Holland or Germany would be a really good move for him, certainly better than being 4th choice here.

just can't see it happening. surely Morrison would have been given assurances he will be first choice here prior to signing? he had a contract offer from brum albeit 1 year compared to our offer of two. He was a stalwart for them, and a first name on their team sheet. Why would he choose to turn them down to come here as a 3rd choice CB?

Because we sign Miazaga then sell Moore for £10 million ?
Or we're not daft enough to offer anyone 'assurances' of anything.
At Morrison's age a 2 year deal will easily trump a 1 year one anyway.

Part of the centre back trading circle

Maguire to Utd, Dunk to Leicester and Moore to Brighton. Reckon we could squeeze £20m out of Brighton now if Dunk is worth £45m and Maguire £80m

Presumably Birmingham then get a young United CB on loan to complete the circle?

Don't be stealing my thoughts.
That would be very tidy and would balance the books nicely.
And if we don't get Miazga across the line, I'd sign Ben Henaghan if still available.
Morrison being talked up in here, and if we stick with Moore, can't wait to see how they compare.
Is Moore 10mil times better than Morrison? We'll find out. Or, maybe we won't. :P

I'd be delighted to get him back; I actually think our squad looks alright at CB but when you get a chance to sign a player of this calibre you take it.

If it doesn't work out, no need to bring in Heneghan or anybody else. If it does happen, McIntyre should go out on loan for the year.

Depends on how much Chelsea will want us to contribute to his wages. They did us a solid in January. It’s a big ask to hope they do so again.

Just thought I’d say that Morrison can play rb so Yiadom on the left and Morro on the right?

works both ways. Suspect we had to play him, if he'd been useless, we'd still had to play him. Unlikely to be the same deal this time round i'd have thought

Would think Miazga and Chelsea would be of the opinion that coming back here for a relegation scrap would do nothing for the player, he is better than us. He should be playing lower end Premier League/semi decent European league imo. I know it didn't work out for him at Nantes but in the 2nd half of last season he showed his undoubted quality. Only way we get him is if it approaches the deadline and he hasn't moved already.

Yeah and even then reckon they’ll hold out for a European loan rather than let him come here

Really? Would have thought he’d get quite a lot of practise at defending personally.

Which isn't a test for him against a Millwall or Wigan. Would have thought the player and Chelsea would want him up against the best so they can find his level.

Twice in a couple of weeks....

Done to deal according to Courtney. As is Charlie Adam, which has taken the gloss off it somewhat.
