and if Puscas signs tomorrow, that would be the icing..

Along with all the off field developments in the past year, and now this window, the Club is starting to look like getting back on track. We have a lot to thank Mr Dai for...

Club 1871should get a flag made in his honour!

WestYorksRoyal Anyone else worried about the volume of rumours? Puscas, Ulloa, Joao, Pele, Rafael. Boye only joined last week.

It's hard to bring together so many diverse players and get them to gel quickly; it reminds me of our 15/16 season with Piazon, Ola John etc.

I'd stick with Joao, Pele and Rafael. All in positions with a clear need, doesn't overload the squad, leaves a path for academy products.

I'm more worried about those all just being rumours ...

Tbf 15/16 *could have been epic, we started really well and it was only when Steve Clarke and Fulhamg8 we started to be shit.

We looked so good I was totally convinced we'd finish top 3.

I’m still not entirely convinced how we’ve gone from a soft embargo and not being borderline breaching fpp to spunking millions on a shit tonne of random footballers. I feel like the owners saw the Wednesday game and thought oxf*rd it.

Never known a window like this. We had signed no one a month ago and now it’s eight and appearing to be on the verge of smashing our transfer record. I can only think the Casumo deal was worth a shedload. I hope we are not taking risks with FFP.

Honestly can't decide if I'm thrilled or terrified. Both probably.

Hopefully there will be some answers tomorrow. Maybe we are selling someone? At the moment I just cannot fathom how we can only afford loan signings a few weeks ago to breaking our transfer record (apparently).

We’re doing a Wolves.
Then we’ll be a ‘London club’ In the PL.
(They all have Academies. And nice training grounds, too.)
We’ll add another layer on top of the stadia (which it was built to accommodate).
We’ll have the trains rolling in.
Meanwhile, the Bolton’s and the Bury’s will go under.
Money talks, Zip. Money talks. :)

Think there are some big numbers being banded around, when the reality is that they won’t be anything like it. One report seems to state that Joao is an initial £800k deal plus lots and lots of add ons. Spread all that over 4 years and it is may be £1m per year plus wages.

Rafael is a Free transfer. Pele is a loan. Boye is on a loan. Money reputed to be coming in from Chelsea selling Big Hec. Suspect we will see a few more out of the door in the next couple of days including Gunter, Baldock, Nova, Popa freeing up more cash for wages. Wouldn’t surprise me to see Loader and/or Barrett now go on loan if we sign
Puscas.

Barrow also out of the door? Who knows.

But it’s going to be an interesting ride and Uncle Dai certainly seems to have good intentions. Hopefully these last a long time and aren’t Tony Xia esque

Yeah this bizarre my head is spinning. From too big a squad, forcing players out and soft transfer embargo etc to 8 signings and Puscas still to come.
Just praying we ain’t signed a load of overhyped overpaid foreign dross like some of the donuts who have been masquerading as footballers in a Reading shirt these past few years.
Gotta feel for some of the academy lads bet they really thought they were gonna get a good crack at the first team this season. Guess Loader Barrett and Olise could be going out on loan now.

There’s still space for the Academy lads but it’s round the fringes. Would still expect Rino, McIntyre, Olise, Loader and maybe Barrett to be getting some game time in, if not starting 11. Which is probably where they are at realistically right now

Taking the fees out of it, looks like José is trying to make us a big physical side. Boye, Meite, Joao and Puscas as are big lads. Blackett, Moore and Miazga are hefty and Pele and Rino is a strong midfield. The signing of Adam makes more sense to me now - he has plenty of targets to aim at

We feel a lot more competitive now certainly. Hopefully the team will click - fairly confident it will

Quite. It will be interesting to see how our younger players are used.
