The Enfield Royal71 Cruciate gone. Liverpool are pfucked.

Even if his cruciate has gone Liverpool still have half of the keepers in the Premier League to drop the ball at their feet like they did last season.

Liverpool supporting mate text me Friday to say that they’re already top of the league and would probably end the weekend there.

He must REALLY hate being two goals behind in the goal difference

6-8 weeks out. Incredible healing abilities.

Re the Norwich game - Liverpool looked as potent going forward as last season, but I think Klopp will be concerned by the defence, which was breached a few times, especially in the first 20 minutes, when Pukki kept finding himself through on goal, and this continues a trend from pre-season. Gomez wasn't his usual solid self and Klopp will need to decide if he persists with him alongside Van Dijk (its surely their best long-term option) or brings back Matip, who finished last season well.

As luck would have it, they've stumbled upon a pretty decent backup keeper in Adrian.

this is what I was banging on about...

Liverpool don't have the depth so a few key injuries and they're fooked

As JM said yesterday the Man City B team could compete for the title

Probably. But they are also the only club that could genuinely still challenge despite 'a few key injuries'. Take out Van Dijk, Salah and Mane, and Liverpool are oxf*rd. See also Maguire, Pogba and De Gea, or Aubameyang, Xhaka and Mkhitryan, or as evidenced at Chelsea, just Kante, and so on.

Agreed. Couldn’t believe the lack of depth added to their squad in the summer and they will more than likely struggle (by their recent standards) because of it.

Man City’s title again already. Perhaps there should be a thread to guess which game it’ll be that they drop the point in. Still at least the Championship and lower leagues will be better value as per usual.

Every pundit seems to be predicting the same 1,2,3 as last year. This has never happened before in the prem

The closest was around 06/07 when the same four teams finished in the top 4 but 2 were in a different order a.k.a 50%_wrong!

Not surprised that (like City) they didn't invest much in the transfer window.
With Gomes, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Brewster and Lallana all being available when hardly available last season I think the squad is slightly stronger.
A bit premature IMHO to give City the title already after beating West Ham and drawing with Liverpool in the Charity Shield.

Gomes has been looking a bit shaky tbf and Lallana is getting on a bit

But tbf to LFC they have spent well in the last couple of windows. Got rid of the deadwood and brought in some really effective talent that has worked well for them

Wait, what?

City bought 2 players with a combined figure of about £151m!

That's nothing for them  , and Mangela has just left on a free.

Filing Mangala in the 'weird' box with Bony. Mangala looked great at Porto in the Champions League but useless every time he stepped on the pitch here. And Bony was a shadow of the player at City that he was at Swansea, although I'm wondering if you can mark him down as another of those players who scores a lot of goals in Holland and not elsewhere.

And Robinho.

Forlan was a very weird one. Socred mental amount of goals in Spain but for some reason never here.

Fun* Robinho fact - caps for Brazil 100, most league appearances for one club 108 (Milan).
Strangely unfulfilled talent.

Bizarre football injuries #3012 - Andy Lonergan may become the oldest English Premier League debutant, at nearly 36, this weekend, after Adrian suffered an ankle injury celebrating his shootout save in the Super Cup. Watch for the invading fan arriving at 0:30 and accidentally taking him out...

I still find it hilarious how he has the same amount of European medals as Buffon.
