This what happens when the big £ overtakes the pennies....or vice-versa, we’ve all bought into it on our tv screens.

Dodgy owners wanting their showcase, misappropriation of wealth within the leagues and game , certain teams allowed to manipulate the rules (which slithers like mercury down into the crevices of the lower leagues), the beautiful game trundles on.

This is football, but it aint all bad.

RIP Bury

This is a dark day for English football.

Sky sports and the Premier league and EFL should be held accountable. This is a grave indication of what is to come.

Seems Bolton have been given yet another 14 days or face the same fate.

Don’t get why the FL let Bolton play games but not Bury.

Hopefully the remaining Bury players and staff will all find other employment quickly.

This is a dark day for football.

Phil Neville was moaning about it but should have put his money where his mouth is and help out

The EFL should have done more to help them at least get through the season.

The owner should be locked up

Bolton were only allowed to play as the EFL were told that the takeover was due to be completed in a matter of days. Obviously that has turned out to be complete bollocks.

Such a stupid statement. The poor running of a football club isn't the fault of Phil bloody Neville or anyone else from the area who just happens to be well off. The blame is with the ownership and the EFL only.

Interesting watching Parky on "The Debate" last night going through the various purchase offers and negotiation stages that were happening whilst he was trying to run the playing side.

You want Phil Neville to buy the football club and take on all of its debts? Please read up on these things before you open your mouth. You wonder why you get so much grief......

Sky sports do not distribute tv money and rights fairly at all. They could easily raise profile and funds and help out smaller teams.

Premier league has financially ruined football

More could have been done by the ownership and EFL yes. It is not for any individual or any other rich club to bail out a whole football club. The current ownership had made buying the club so unattractive it was always going to end this way. I hope Steve Dale's financial dealings are looked into by the authorities ASAP, definitely something dodgy going on there.

If someone wants to and is generous enough to then so be it but there is no should about it. With the business history of the owner how do you know any donation would not have just lined his pockets and he still would have run the club down?

The Enfield Royal71 Why dont the efl or sky or fa have money set aside for this

Some owners would see it as a net to catch them when it goes wrong so can push the risk even further as someone else then has to sort their f*ck up. Better to try and prevent the cause of this happening again rather than put something in place to help owners when they behave irresponsible

You do realise Sky are a business too and aren't a charity?

They aren't accountable for the Bury or Bolton situation, it is poor ownership/poor due diligence on EFL side.
