Victor Meldrew Thank goodness the dreadful decision by Marriner not to give a penalty made no difference to the result.
The mighty reds go marching on but have a difficult game away at Chelsea next week but win that and I think they will now become favourites with Laporte out for City for 6 months.
How bad is John Stones?

You used to rate him as well...

Never rated him-far too casual and City's answer to David Luiz.

If City are left with Stones and Otamendi until Christmas then Liverpool will already have the title sewn up.
Not replacing Kompany and then losing Laporte is going to be way too much to come back from - even at this early stage.

BR0B0T Calm down...you’ve played Southampton and Norwich and looked shakey at the back

BR0B0T you've played sides who are likely to be in a relegation battle and Arsenal at Anfield (guaranteed 3 points)

Whereas Citeh did ever so well.

I actually thought the front two looked tired and stale for Liverpool last night.....Wonder which one will struggle and lose form first, Mane or Salah.....

Neither will because they are world class players who have been consistent performers for the past two years.

I watched the first half of Liverpool's game last night and, even taking into account the level of opposition, I have to say I was impressed with the young lad they bought from Fulham, Harvey Elliot.

His movement, awareness and general maturity on the ball set him apart. Missed a bit of a sitter, although Milner's pass may have made it a little more difficult than I'm giving him credit for.

Certainly one to watch.

Agreed, he looked quite something - and he isn't 17 until April.

Out of nowhere Liverpool suddenly have a crop of very promising youngsters in Elliott, Hoever, Brewster and Jones. They signed Sepp Van Den Berg in the summer too, a 17 year old Dutch central defender who has already played 20 times in Eredivisie. The keeper Kelleher is very highly thought of too.

Appears he has been. And, well (judgementally), look at him.

But what 16 year old hasn't been a bit of a dick?

There's something about the way he moves with the ball that reminded me of Rooney, and his debut at 16.

I was more than just a bit of a d*ck at 16. Add a huge bank balance, an adoring public and social media on top and lord knows how I would have come across

I had a similar thought about him and Rooney. For me I think it was how simply he did things and his movement.

The little move he did where he beat two men before setting up Milner was quite Rooney-esque.

I was just as impressed with Curtis Jones but you can see why Liverpool were keen to get Elliott from Fulham.

Sky (yes, I know) are reporting that Liverpool are being investigated for playing an ineligible player against MK Dons

They’re out if they have
