What might I see in the area : Gold
A break from the league for both clubs and a chance for both clubs to try and break what is starting to become a bit of an alarming season.
And that is what will make this one a bit of an unknown as I don’t think anyone has a clue how many of what you would term each club’s first team squad will be involved. Logically with their European involvement then Wolves should be severely shorn of those that grace the first division but then given their form and lack of success perhaps the Wolves management will want to include several of them to try and kick start that winning feeling. Same for Jose perhaps? No I actually think we will see a “reduced” team though perhaps not quite on the scale of the Plymouth tie.
Injuries for Reading are basically Morrison. Hopefully Miazga will be involved to some degree as we really need him back in.
Finally, usual rules, 90 minutes then penalties if needed.
Referee
Peter Bankes for this one.

Historically
This will be the first visit Reading to Wolverhampton for a cup tie in any competition (except for the 1927 FA Cup semi final) though Reading have played Wolves twice previously in both the FA Cup and League Cup competitions, all at Elm Park, and from those games Wolves won both the FA Cup games and Reading win both of the League Cup games.
