So I've just paid £32 (plus £1.50) for a crap seat in N36 but I see that tickets for home supporters (non members) in the equivalent stand at the far end of the ground S24 v Wigan are just £27.

How do they get away with this? I thought clubs weren't allowed to charge visiting supporters more than home fans for equivalent seats? Or do Bristol City operate a variable pricing structure for their home tickets based on 'attractiveness' of opposition?

While the train goes direct to Bristol, neither Parkway nor Temple Meads is anywhere near the ground.

Best option is a train to Parkway, then change to a local train service to Parson Street. From there it is a 20 minute walk or you can get the bus.

If you go to Temple Meads then get a taxi from the station. I've bussed it before and it was not worthwhile.

Any pubs by temple meads or is it better to go to town centre

I'm the wrong person to ask but I've always thought of Temple Meads as being quite central. There are pubs nearby but I can't offer any recommendations.

Temple Meads is the opposite side of the City from Ashton Gate. It is walkable along the river bank (2-2.25 miles) if you don't mind a hike and the weather is reasonable. You can call into some of the riverside pubs on your way. The Nova Scotia is a nice old fashioned spit and sawdust pub with good beer and cider and decent food with good portions and very reasonable prices.

If you're a fan of street food, there is a fantastic selection of very reasonably priced food in St Nicholas Market, Corn St, (the detour will add about half a mile to your walk). Seamus O'Donnells (yes it's an Irish Pub!) in St Nicholas St, are happy for you to take the food you buy at the market into the pub to enjoy with your pint.

Forgot to say - there's a river ferry service from Temple Meads through the City to the Nova Scotia (from there it's just over half a mile to the stadium). https://www.bristolferry.com/ferry/ https://www.novascotiabristol.co.uk/index

If anyone is spending some time in Bristol or is walking from Temple Meads and doesn't mind a detour through the City (probably about a three mile walk/stagger in total to the stadium), there are some good pubs in the Old Market area. Two examples are The Volunteer Tavern http://volunteertavern.co.uk/ very large selection of real ale/craft beers, and The Punch Bowl http://punchbowlbristol.com/. Again a good selection of ales/craft beers and good food.

Bear in mind, however, that the West Country doesn't wake up very early so a lot of pubs won't open until midday. Nova Scotia & Pump House open at 11am.

There's a lot of other good pubs/cider houses in that area. It is also the heart of Bristol's gay village - just something to be aware of if you're someone who has an issue with that.

Oh and there's several massage parlours (complete with cash machines in the entrance area!) in the area too!

I'll be drinking in the centre before the game. Plenty of good pubs and bars. Looks like we've sold a good amount of tickets given our current form.

Is anyone making their own way there by car and if so where's the best place to park?

Had a few in the Nova Scotia, Saturday. The locals were extremely welcoming, let the kids sit at the bar, decent ale, cheesy chips were ace and a decent turn-out from the Royals. Met a sound bloke, Neil, fellow Royal living in Bristol in there. Good bantz. Hope to catch up again soon, m8.
