Precisely. We all know what will happen. City will come out of the blocks faster than Usain Bolt while Reading will plod about slowly looking like the proverbial “rabbits in headlights”. From there it will either develop into a turkey shoot for City or it’ll be a sterling rearguard action that Reading somehow manage to muster from somewhere to sneak a point or somehow manage to keep it to just a 1 goal defeat in the face of everything thrown at them. There will be minimal striking threat posed by Reading throughout.

And all for just £32

To be fair, we’ve only lost the second half three times. One of those was a 95 minute goal from Joao. It’s the first half that is generally the problem

Like most Reading supporters I cannot understand what’s wrong with Moore. When he first arrived he was a one man army, then Wet Sham became interested and when that fell through his form collapsed. It was ditto last season, perhaps he was waiting for a Prem move. What he didn’t realise was that he was so bad that all Prem interest disappeared.
He then realised under Gomes at the tail end of last season that he was looking at Div 1 football, and all most overnight for the tail end of the season,he was terrific
The start of this season he has been poor, but I don’t think dropping him will help the cause.
IMHO
Go back to a flat back four. With Moore and Miazga CBS.Morrison RB.
None of our LBs are great defensively.I would probably go with Tyler.
The MF Pele, and Rino ,with Ejaria behind the strikers.
Then play Yiadom to create havoc as a RWB.
Leaving Puscas and Meite as strikers.
We cannot carry on as we are, making the same mistakes, week in week out.
Do something different!Make Brizzie think about it.

I'm so confused by the formation you want us to play. Flat back 4 with a random RWB on as well?

Looking at the prediction league, only one person thinks we can get a win and two think we can get a draw which is pretty depressing reading. Wonder, now that Tuesday has gone and we have all calmed down a bit more, what people think on here. Is this "last chance saloon" for Gomes? The international break is coming up so if it is done, it gives us a bit of time, or does the club give him longer?
Ive seen a couple of postings saying he has lost the dressing room (mind you criticizing players by name in public doesn't help), how long will it go on for?

I am sure a lot of what you are saying is perfectly valid but can you format the sentences in the usual way? Its very difficult to read.

Huh?

———————Rafael——————
Morrison—-Moore—-Miazga—Tyler

Yiadom

—————Pele———-Rino
———————-Ejaria
—————Puscas——-Meite

Now why didn’t we think of this before...

I think this experiment of playing Ejaria and Swift together needs to stop, to facilitate the both of them we need a bloody good DM, Rinomhota and Pele aren't that, so in light of Swift's suspension I think we should play something like this:

------------------Rafael-------------------
Yiadom-Moore-Miazga-Richards
---------------Pele-Rinomhota--------
Meite----------Ejaria----------Barrett
------------------Puscas-------------------

I think we need to play wide men, although I think Meite and Barrett would do a lot of cutting inside, I don't think we have players capable of playing wingback, Yiadom maybe on a good day but despite success against Cardiff and Huddersfield, I have felt they have been exposed horribly, especially noticeable against Blackburn.

Bets on:

........................Cabral
.........Moore, Morrison, Miazga
Yiadom, ...........Pele, .............Obita
...................Ejaria, Olise*
...................Puscas, Joao

And Gomes learning nothing?

*oh god, or Adam!

Or

Yes 2 tacklers in midfield would be a start

NewCorkSeth Ok. I'm bored at work. I cant watch this game as I have work but how about:

---------------Rafael
Miazga---Morrison---Moore*
Yiadom---------------------Richards
-----------Pele---Rinomhota
----------------Ejaria
----------Meite---Puscas

Walker
Obita
McIntyre
Olise
Barrett
Joao
Loader

Might work. Obviously not my preferred formation but it's as good as I can think of.

Rinomhota was fine against Fulham. Loved his spirit, charging runs and his willingness to intercept and counter.

Also thought Puscas played well enough all things considered.

Meite has to start. Reward the goal. Cant keep chopping and changing the forwards.

*getting towards his last chance for me.

Works for me.

Expecting another great away performance following on from deserved draws at high-flying WBA and Swansea, although will miss Swift

NCS - you are Jose Gomes

That might actually work. Glad to see the Meite and Puscas battering ram option finally given a go.

Almost got the subs correct too. Swap Obita for Boye and I'm spot on.

Not that this was a guess for the team.

It's the team I wanted so if it fails then I guess blame me.

Perfectly good team on paper as it has been most of the season. Now the players need to deliver

With the 3-5-2 formation, he’s picked the best possible team today...fingers-crossed it works out for him

I wonder if Swift's suspension may make Gomes stumble across a more balanced midfield by luck over judgement. Rino is better when he has license to be more all action and get forward and he will be allowed to do so today. Not sure we need Swift and Ejaria in the same team.
