Wigan last season. 2 times before that April 2017 vs Rotherham H and January 2017 vs Bristol city A from 2-0 down.

We look like conceding at any moment, but much more in the game towards the end of the half.

As with the likes of Sheff wed, Blackburn, Middlesbrough etc. City don’t sound anything particularly brilliant yet Reading just do not offer anything much by way of threat despite the attacking nature of the squads selected. Something just is not right with the team/management tactics

Sounds like every other match this season pretty much

Ok in patches but poor finishing and soft defending

8 Pts from 11 is frankly pathetic. Would be absolutely no surprise if Gomes gets the boot if we do lose this

The style of play is hopeless. Sideways passes and occasional laboured forward passes from the defence. Midfielders who dwell on the ball for too long. No first time passes forward. Little wonder we struggle because it’s all so predictable. If Gomes wants to stay in a job he needs to start from scratch.

Yep, no movement on or off the ball in defence or attack.

No one is looking for a quick pass. No one is playing instinctively, all second guessing, over-thinking and hesitating.

In defence they're not tracking anyone, they're trying to play some zonal bullshit and all it means is the opposition constantly have players in space and we're constantly charging around leaving gaps, trying to get close to the player on the ball.

Miazga and Yiadom for the goal were absolutely shameful.

Might sound silly here but I dont think we are going to start getting anything from games until our closing down tactics change.

Currently we have 1 player close down the ball while the others close down space. We need to either start having the other players close down the passing routes a la Pep or have 2 players close down the ball a la Jurgen. Currently we are half assing it and Rinomhota is the only player we have capable of: intercepting, passing, dribbling and holding it up.

At least that's my big takeaway from the first half. We allow teams so much space on the ball because half the team are busy marking the space thise players "could" move into. Fundamental flaw in Jose's defensive plan.

You were quick in cutting that grass or has it started to rain?
Will Gomes change it to his usual of 5 strikers and no shape or will these lads do enough to keep him in a job?

Agree with Ian and Seth. This marking space is hopeless. The lack of pressing is ridiculous. Gomes is not learning. This is the Championship for crying out loud. Learn and adapt. Don’t play the same failed way time after time and expect success.

I'd assumed it was incompetence rather than deliberate, but that makes sense.

Would explain why Rino's been a shadow of himself from last season too. And why Pele still looks clueless.

We're absolutely in this game, and are a little unlucky not to be back even. But I see nothing better from Gomes.

Bet Swift comes straight back in for Pele or Rino.

Grass cut. Only back garden as have a gravelled front garden. That’s the other issue. Gomes panics with his substitutions and we end up it’s no balance. This marking space is hopeless. Mark the effing player.

Was seriously hoping Spurs would muller Brighton and Potter got the sack......replacement manager available....damn!!!!! Should have known better than to trust those north London clowns.
Gomes has 45 minutes to save his job...I just can't see how he is gonna turn this around now.

Anyone want to join me in counting the number of times Yiadom starts off goalside of his man this half?

Look on the bright side. Ipswich were shit last year but unbeaten in L1 now. could that be a rebuilding job for us?

I don't know how league 1 squares with FFP and money spent on Puscas and Joao. And we should be able to rebuild at this level.
