Didn't know where to put this but I read today that the past 4 world cup finals have featured 7 European teams and 1 South American team, and Europe had not had back to back WC winners until 2010, now we have 4 consecutive winners, all of which are different nations.

Has European football left South American football behind? Is this just a glorious period for European football which will come to an end soon enough?
