Looks like Boye has hit the bar, Richards the post whilst Walker has made a decent save at the other end.

And we scored a 2nd as a typed this.

yet so far, so good eh?

Would be 0-4 had Bowen gone with a full strength side.

Very very odd thing to say. Getting through each round of the cup is binary. Through or not. Goal difference doesn't count.

If Bowen has picked a team good enough to get through...whatever the score....then that is job done.

Really really odd and whacky comment by you.

Looks like a nice comfortable win all in all and a decent run out for the squad players

Yep.

The 4th round could distract from the league campaign

There is no league campaign, we aren't a top 6 side. A cup run is our excitement this season.

Bigtimmeh Yeah they just did. It was ok..

Yeah, good cross, poor attempted block / clearance and a pounce. Can't say it changes my mind about Boye much.

He could score 5 goals a game and miserable bastards like you would still hate him. He is perfectly fine for us, gets a raw deal for no reason.

Bore off.

I sense a few plates of Humble Pie being passed around the people who started slagging this team off earlier in the thread!

It would have been about 0-4 with a full strength team based upon the scoreline with our reserves.

You're not very bright.

Quality wise we're top 6 in every aspect bar forwards, there's a reason why only 4 sides have conceded fewer goals than us this year. With the carnage that 3rd-13th is we're certainly in for a good challenge providing that our average PPG with Bowen doesn't dip too far.

Stop slagging off our players then, especially when they have won us a game.

Yep. Great experience for Olise, Richards, Loader, Burley, Dorsett, McIntyre and Howe.

Shame Aluko got more minutes in a Reading shirt. Game over and East, House or Medford-Smith could have got a nice run out.

My mistake Sandman. Hands up. Sometimes he just gets the better of me.

As am aside, this'll be 9 league and cup games unbeaten. Hats off Mr Bowen. Am looking forward to a very interesting
remaining few months of the season.

FT 2-0

How good are Reading’s youngsters then? Stepped up well against a reasonably decent third division team. Should really help with their development and confidence.

No doubt a very similar team for the 4th round tie. Really do hope it’s Carlisle and we don’t get 2 weekends v Cardiff.

Bristol City game now postponed. Reckon will just be put back to the following Tuesday (28th) though.

Carlisle v Cardiff scheduled for tomorrow.

Well judged Bowen, no point winning 4-0 away from home in the cup. Players have been fairly well rested, others have had a chance to get some form of match sharpness, or more match experience.

Goes to show even some of us armchair (at least for tonight) fans don’t really know what we’re on about.
