I'd be pretty livid at the EFL if I were a Wigan fan. EFL rush through your takeover, only for the club to go into admin within 4 weeks, then they punish you with a points deduction.

Wasn't it Dirty Leeds who went into administration 5 minutes before the end of the season with relegation all but confirmed, in a vain attempt to dodge any real sanction?

If you are in trouble you dream of playing Birmingham, after us that is. Huddersfield 2-0 up at St Andrews.

It's almost us though us, Birmingham and QPR have got nothing to play for, and the results are reflecting that.

Feels like teams at the bottom are all in decent form. Genuinely think we may need 2 more wins to be safe.

Hull and Stoke? if we got a win and a draw Wigan would need 15 out of 18 points to stay above us.

Hull and Stoke?

We could do with Middlesbrough beating Hull tomorrow.

Well Hull looked shit, but somehow got a win, getting quite tight down the bottom now.

Indeed - there are only 10 points between the bottom 11 sides and most of the bottom sides seem to be improving their form. Almost anyone in the bottom 11 could go down so we need a couple of wins soon to put any nerves to bed - otherwise it could be an uncomfortable end to the season.

Didn't see that coming at all.
Lose at Luton and one or two results go against us and all of a sudden......

Yep we definitely need something from the Luton game. A draw would be ok.

Even though they won nothing I saw convinced me they have enough to survive, 4 out of their last 6 are away WBA, Bristol city, Wigan and Cardiff, home against Millwall and Luton.

Despite now being only 6 points from the drop ourselves.....it’s lovely to see Sjoke and Maclean in the bottom three 8)

Agreed. Wigan might save Stoke. It seems very hard on Wigan that they will be deducted 12 points given the pandemic.

I think 51 will be enough. With Wigan getting 12 points deduction then with 6 games left you would imagine none of bottom three will get more than 10 points. And likely that if they did others would struggle. I think it will be 3 of Luton, Wigan, hull and stoke. If reading only pick up one or zero points then we get what we deserve.

Happily take a 0-0 on Saturday. Every point worth any extra one with our GD

Yep agree with 51. I've had a quick look at all the remaining games and reckon Wigan, Hull, Stoke and Barnsley will all fail to get past this total.

if they were well ran before the pandemic then they wouldn't be in this position. When clubs go into administration it is normally because someone in charge has bad very bad decisions and the administration is well deserved. It is sad for the supporters and the FA and Football League are as culpable as the Wigan owners. Nowhere near enough is done to ensure morons are banned from owning football clubs, it is far too easy.

In the near future I am hoping salary caps come in along with set budgets for each team at the start of a season which increases or decreases depending on the League you are in. With less overheads I would hope it would encourage wealthy local people to own football clubs who have an affinity to the particular town/city. You would see the more dodgy owners who are in it to line their own pockets get out of the game because there won't be nearly as much money in the game. Wages and transfer fees would all fit into the agreed club budgets ensuring overspending is a thing of the past, it would be a lot cheaper to run a football club. Big transfer fees from Football League to Premier League transfers could be saved by the club and invested in youth and training facilities.

Only problem there is that if we only get 1 or 2 points whilst the others pick up 9 / 10

Then our GD is going down a fair bit whilst theirs goes up a fair bit.

Could get tight.

Although I think we should pick up at least 4 more points and hopefully 6 to 9.
