If we are playing the U23s in the cup game, Colchester at 5/1 looks massive.

It is worth chucking a couple of quid on them regardless of which team we play tbh.

Possible that the going to Portugal bit was part of the narrative around Stanojevic, who the hell knows at the moment. Things will hopefully become clearer later today.

As for who it is, that Eddie bloke on Twitter saying we just need to wait on the big name manager. Hopefully he means, just wait on the announcement and not that we don't have anyone lined up at all.

It will not be the Serbian.

Looks like the local journo's have been led down the garden path.

If Dai wanted to replace Bowen, why didn’t he remove him when the season ended? I’m slightly more optimistic now it appears Bowen Will still be around and involved in the transfer side of thing. But 2 weeks before the start of the season is just terrible timing.

Or they are massive frauds who haven't got a single clue. Like I have been saying all along, always right.

If you think they're misleading you, or would like to make a complaint. I suggest you take a look here -> https://www.ipso.co.uk/complain/

Or they just report what they are told and it happens to be wrong information, happens all the time with local and national press.

Plus they always said he was a contender isn't exactly the wording you'd use if it was definite.

Posted elsewhere but probably makes more sense here:

Can't help but think it's going to be Freddie Ljungberg coming in. He is a "big name", who only left his current role at the end of last week in order to pursue a managerial career - talks to move things around apparently only really came to head in the last week, so maybe Ljungberg was approached last week - given Kia's involvement at Arsenal now, very possible.

He is a well respected player, who has been working as a number 2 at Wolsburg and Arsenal - could see us in prime position for decent loans from Arsenal.

As it is his first job, he would also be more happy to work under a DoF who has oversight of transfers than a more experienced manager would be.

Guess we'll see.

EDIT: If Portugal is happening, then the only other person who makes sense is Leonardo Jardim - as, being Portugese, he likely lives there.

How can I report someone who isn't a journalist? The person in question is a pretend journalist, he quit his reporting job 2 years ago but makes shit up on Twitter so he can get interactions from very thick/younger supporters who don't know any better.

Jonathan Low, (the only actual local journalist connected to the club) knows absolutely nothing but normally only reports facts, he wouldn't be in breach of any regulation.

Ah oxf*rd knows but this is distracting me from the work I should be doing - that Eddie bloke now intimating it's going to be Hughton, I think.

I mean Hughton would be ideal...but he turned down Brizzle who are in a more stable position than we are right now, so can’t see that happening

That's just guesswork on his part. Not sure our owners would see Hughton as a big name, I think you're probably right about Ljungberg.

Do you think that the owners just take it upon themselves to create excitement in the Board room to compensate for how it's been lacking on the pitch since they took over?

No I just don't think they have a single clue about how to run a football club.

Of course the reality with a lot of football journalism is that it’s guess work merged with trying to piece things together, made worse with click bait/social media as ‘journalists’ and joe public trying to appear like they are in the know

If the Portugal thing is true then it's surely someone who doesnt live there? Otherwise they would be able to fly to the UK without quarantine. But if Ljunberg has gone to Sweden after leaving Arsenal...

But being away as a squad will give a new manager more time to know the team, so going to where the manager is may make sense as they will be in a closed camp. Anyway, still pretty sure it's Ljunberg with Hughton as an outsider.

From the ever reliable Eddie:

"Backing my understanding, talk sport have said that we will be backing our new manager with 6-8 new signings, in a bid to get to the premier league. #readingfc"

Probably my age;but I don’t think I will be paying £10 a game to watch on I Follow.Might have considered buying my Season Ticket; getting a free I Follow pass for home games until such time as I can attend.
