Hitchytwotmesis In all seriousness, how many people are going to watch a make-shift team deep in the bowels of the pyramid at the irredeemable craphole of Scours Lane?
With the exception of folded clubs (and FC United), has a single "fans' club" risen from their very modest start?
Yes, AFC Wimbledon.

I'm against amalgamations of any kind.strap I was just texting the exact same thing to my lads. Amalgamate with Reading City, at least then we'd have a few players.

Yes, AFC Wimbledon.
When Wimbledon effectively ceased to exist, AFC Wimbledon were all intents and purposes the replacement for a folded club.

Jagermesiter1871 Can't we just merge with Oxford United and piggy back off their success? Maybe call the team Thames Royals or Valley Royals or something.

They started playing the ninth tier in 2002, They didn't just replace Wimbledon. MK Dons took there place.

Technically, yes, but the the club located in south London that Wimbledon fans followed ceased to exist, and a completely different club took their league position and players.
Virtually none of Wimbledon's fans went to watch the new club in MK, making it an entirely different scenario to fans setting up a "breakaway" club in protest at the running of an existing club.
