Looks like (another) essential read, thanks for bringing it to my attention....hopefully not just a sampled ‘The Greatest Footballer You Never Saw’

paultheroyal Apologies if mentioned or i have missed it but i do think its poor from McCleary and Gunter that there has been no "social media" goodbyes. I actually like the pair and shame it has come to an end, but i thought it would be acknowledged in some way that they are not on our payroll. Unless the done thing these days is to get a new club, thank the old and then welcome the new?

McCleary put something on instagram

Disgrace. They should have at least acknowledged us giving them a wage and livelyhood for so long. If they aren't grateful then good riddance to them.

To be fair, I've never given my former employers a social media post

Interesting twist that we ‘gave’ them a wage.
They both gave pretty good service for that wage, loads of games played, significant contributions on and off the field for many more years than most players stay at a club.
Both might consider that they were badly treated last summer, but to their credit they both worked hard and got back into the side.
I hope they look back on their time with us as a good era, I’m not too fussed about some token posting on a social media platform I have never looked at !

As noted elshwere, McCleary did put something up on Instagram.

Perhaps if Gunter thought signing for a new club was close, (but it then got delayed), that he thought it would make sense to combine the two? Like you though, I would have expected some kind of a post.

Of course, given his squad number hasn't been reused, maybe there's no statement because there are still negotiations going on behind the scenes for a return!

If he wanted to come back on reduced wages and understand he was back up to Yiadom and was only going play a bit-part role in the season then I’d 100% have him.

it would give us temporary cover at LB as well as Gunter has proven he can certainly do a job there in the past if Richards was injured

To be fair, he kept a clean sheet. He might have found his level.

Dominic Samuel has joined Gillingham. Guess that’s the end of the McNulty to Gillingham rumours.

Tyler Blackett starts at left back for Forest.

Commentary states that Forest have signed a left back today from a Greek side

Didn’t take long to work him out apparently
