It’s funny how the majority of the forum post about how much strife the club is in and what a disaster the season will be, and then when it comes to predictions our blind optimism for a tough away game comes through!

Since it "costs" -3 points in the Prediction League to have an outlier prediction that is wrong, I've reined myself in, and bingo, two season-wins.

Of course it's hard to use head over heart. (I see the same thing in teaching how to critique writing. People confuse "like" and "dislike" with measuring and critiquing the quality of the writing).

But sometimes "gut-instinct" takes over. I watched the first 45 v Colchester and was really worried, but then the second half had everything, "three" new players doing well, Olise having a great half, a perfect hat-trick...

Then, for some reason (demeanour?) I really like the cut of the new manager's jib, and that b@stard HOPE sneaked in.

I started to think, hey MAYBE, we can have a better season. Then I saw Derby's pre-season had been meh, and I thought "We can score a few up there, maybe two or three). But because of the first 45 I also thought, "Can't see us keeping a clean sheet."

I seriously thought 60-70% would go for Derby win, 25% a draw, and Seahawk for the win! So at first i reined in my 2-3 and thought 3-3, then I got braver (AKA dumber).

JUST a THOUGHT THOUGH, In the Colchester game, switch the halves around. Had we played the first 45, opened up Colchester at will, been winning 2-0 HT (shoulda been more) and then had a dodgy second where Colchester pulled one back and Joao sealed it with a header, wouldn't we have been very pleased?
