CountryRoyal He looks class but I’d feel for Holmes who did absolutely nothing wrong and probably deserves some time in the team.

This is my concern. I can see the likes of Holmes and McIntyre not even making the squad going forward let alone the starting line up. They are totally committed and have done well. I would hate to see them become disillusioned. They need to be given a fair chance.

Holmes did really well yesterday, but he didn't look a natural RB. All of Watford's early pressure came down that side which caused a bit of chaos, he grew into the game though to be fair to him. However he's still only 20, I'd be happy for this guy to come in considering his pedigree and for one of Holmes/McIntyre to go out on loan. If we're serious about a promotion challenge I think it makes sense to address our weak spots, one of which is RB currently (no disrespect to Holmes). If we can do that cheaply and with someone very highly rated like this lad I'm all for it. I imagine he's probably more suited to our style than Holmes also if we're looking to play attacking wing-backs.

TiagoIlori We are trying to loan out Tom McIntyre. Tom Holmes is a brilliant prospect but let’s be honest, he’s not a right back and playing youngsters out of position risks absolutely ruining their confidence. I’m more concerned about Araruna- what happens to him now? He’s not going to be back in the team after injury and it seems Paunovic thinks he’s a right back.

CountryRoyal Let’s not forget he got the assist for the winner.

TMc should be our third choice centre back. He is absolutely ready to compete for a place in the team. I was baffled by the loan signing of Gibson. We had two senior centre backs in Moore and Morrison and two junior centre backs in McIntyre and Holmes. Perfect combination imo.

Got to remember Holmes isn't a right back. Got a clear future with us.

I know that obvs. As I keep banging on he should be 4th choice centre back which seems about right for where he is right now. We do not need to have signed Gibson. Just my opinion of course but sometimes we do seem too happy to bring in players without giving some squad players a proper chance.
