Big, exciting prospect that Porto have high hopes for who’s in contention to win European golden boy and is already their second choice right back. Was absolutely crucial in their UEFA youth league win but is a bit weak. Would be a very good player to have on our hands.

This is my concern. I can see the likes of Holmes and McIntyre not even making the squad going forward let alone the starting line up. They are totally committed and have done well. I would hate to see them become disillusioned. They need to be given a fair chance.

Tbf Holmes was always going to be behind 4/5 others. He’s not a specialist RB. This guy is special and would be a massive coup if we pull it off before tomorrow’s deadline.

Its going to be an intense season and both Holmes and McIntyre will get their chance.

If we sign this kid, we will have 8 specialist defenders (plus the academy) which is 2 for every position across the back 4. That's about the right number.

This is my concern. I can see the likes of Holmes and McIntyre not even making the squad going forward let alone the starting line up. They are totally committed and have done well. I would hate to see them become disillusioned. They need to be given a fair chance.

Holmes did really well yesterday, but he didn't look a natural RB. All of Watford's early pressure came down that side which caused a bit of chaos, he grew into the game though to be fair to him. However he's still only 20, I'd be happy for this guy to come in considering his pedigree and for one of Holmes/McIntyre to go out on loan. If we're serious about a promotion challenge I think it makes sense to address our weak spots, one of which is RB currently (no disrespect to Holmes). If we can do that cheaply and with someone very highly rated like this lad I'm all for it. I imagine he's probably more suited to our style than Holmes also if we're looking to play attacking wing-backs.

I’m more concerned about Araruna- what happens to him now? He’s not going to be back in the team after injury and it seems Paunovic thinks he’s a right back.

Gibson makes sense to me, a left footed centre back is very much in demand these days particularly in the style of play Paunovic wants- we will probably start seeing him sooner rather than later! Mind you I do think McIntyre needs regular football at his age, so he can either earn a contract here or elsewhere. Jake Cooper turned into a brilliant centre back ready to play first choice for Millwall after a stint in league one for example.
