Old Man Andrews
Ark Royal Great 2-1 win for Bracknell at Chertsey last night in front of 400. Late winner from Dan Bayliss pushes the Robins up to second.

Yeah was a fine win! Could defintiely go up this season which will mean finding a new stadium to play in. Wondering if Slough will be an option until they sort a new ground out a bit more local to Bracknell.

Simmops I wonder if there is an FC England in Romania.

...depends if there's a big gang of ethnic Anglo ex-pats who've decided to form a team in the lower levels of the Romanian Pyramid?

Think FC Romania have just upped sticks again or are planning to - playing at Theobalds Lane, Cheshunt but there was talk of them relocating to somebody's ground over in Essex - can't recall why or where now?

Saw them not all that long ago in an FA National competition (so Cup or Vase) at Cheshunt on a Sunday
- lovely ol' larger than life fellah/a real 'salt of the earth type' Norf Lahnden character - big shiny suit, League association badges etc - welcomed everyone to the ground personally as you entered - had a PA microphone for announcements but possessed a voice which meant he didn't really need it! Bit like an E.European Alan Sugar but much nicer.
Walked along the seats asking everyone he didn't recognize how far they'd travelled etc.
Interspersed with this City banter he'd break off every now and then and bellow something that sounded mostly complimentary & supportive in Romanian, to his team on the pitch -
- taking great pains to chuck in the obligatory 'Bravo Georgiou/Radiou/Antoniou' etc etc
- made the effort to try to and shake everyone's hand at the end of the game, as they left too.

- Our match of choice; think I’ve attended half a doz. times - mate hadn’t been here before – bit wet drizzly on the way down and the SatNav was playing silly b&ggers on the M3 but I ignored it and arrived in time.
- Good open game – Fleet fell behind; lost a man to a fairly harsh straight red but stuck to it and deservedly won with a determined 2nd half fightback
- Nice ground this even in the wet – joined the hoi polloi up on the balcony
- Decent bar service – pleasant Itchen Valley Brewery selection available too; tried the Hampshire Rose and the Pure Gold.

Binfield v Windsor tonight.

Even though it’s local not sure I can muster the energy or enthusiasm to pop along and see us concede 6 or 7.

Oh dear, i recall he resigned the Chairmanship a while back but is Steinborn-Busse still in charge?

For some reason in my head I could never entirely separate KSB from Mark Entwistle.

That’ll teach me.

With 5 mins left Windsor are leading 4-2!

I am amazed. And yes, a bit gutted at my out of character lack of faith.

Royals and Racers Going to the FA vase tie between Flackwell Heath and Desborough town FC( Northants) on Saturday

Flackwell Heath 3 Desborough 0- Flackwell always in control of the game although it took 2 late goals to seal it. Flackwell looked a decent side and should do well in the Hellenic league premier division this season. Got there early and had a good look at the pitch- slopes all over the pitch and surprisingly a mound in front of the small stand.

111 Tadley Calleva 1-2 Frimley Green
112 Thornbury Town 1-4 Abingdon United
113 Woodley United 2-3 Reading City att 207
114 Fleet Town 3-1 Shrivenham
115 Rochester United 0-4 Sutton Athletic
116 Worthing United 4-3 Canterbury City
-got down to this – pleasant enough ground in a nice sculptured grassy hollow at the back of a retail park directly N off the A27
- decent food van – bar a bit small but sold badges
–plenty of seats in the stand along the clubhouse side but the elderly locals got a bit jumpy about social distancing
- very entertaining Sussex v Kent tussle.
- STEP05 Canterbury deservedly raced into a two goal lead by HT
- Team talk had effect on the home side – scored immediately after the break – there followed a long delay whilst a visiting CB was treated in the goal mouth – he was injured (knee) when the goal was scored. Not sure if an Ambulance did arrive to take him.
- the young STEP06 hosts then piled on the set-piece deliveries opening a flaw in City’s defence without one of their larger stoppers back there. Turned the game around to lead 3-2 – then conceded a leveller very late on – awarded by the Asst Ref who judged the ball to have crossed the line in a close in scramble.
- around what must have been the 100’ mark – it had been a long delay – there was an almighty tangle at another United Corner – forward left laying prone in the area - Ref awards pen and dismisses visiting player. Penalty converted - mayhem – final whistle not long after but City still had 2 clear close-range chances to pull level again.
- roads nice and clear; back indoors not long after 19:00

Simmops Going to be a very long season for Maidenhead at this rate.

Not a surprise really, done well to survive for as long as they have. Presumably still the only part time side in the National League and only survived last season on ppg (though if their home form hadn’t have been quite so wretched they would have been mid table).

Think Maidenhead’s best hope of survival will be if other clubs around them collapse financially in the current climate.

FOC - can I politely ask that you include Eastleigh FC into your local reporting and worthy of bold categorisation. They are only 4 miles south of Winchester

Went to Ash United 2 - 6 Bashley in the FA Vase.

Lovely little venue, not sure how it has slipped my net until now. Wrongly assumed it would be not much more than a field.

Give it a visit if you can.
