If you remove Rangers and Celtics league results then the most successful club in Scotland would be Hearts, then Aberdeen, then Hibs, then Motherwell.

Dumbarton have won the most league titles outside of Scotch football's 'big 5'. Queens Park have won the same amount of major trophies as Hibs.

Why are Celtic doing so badly this season?

Plot twist. They aren't, Rangers are just running away with it.

They've got 44 points from 20 league games so far this season. In 18-19, they had 43 points at this stage, with four defeats. In 17-18, it was 47 points. In 15-16 it was 47 points too. Can't really compare them to two exceptional seasons last year, and 16-17, where they only failed to win four times, that sort of thing isn't sustainable. They are just doing what they normally do - winning most games, not winning sometimes.

Can't do much about Rangers either. They've only conceded 6 goals in 23 games, which is nuts.

In terms of not keeping pace, there's an element of the Liverpools in Rangers results and the way City's levels dropped off when it became clear they wouldn't be caught.

I don't think their fans are that happy at the moment.
The Dubai trip led to the final nail in their Championship hopes last night by putting out a weakened team (because of post-Dubai covid) and only drawing with their Fenian rivals from Edinburgh.

Rangers are even further ahead than Liverpool were at this stage last season.
BTW watching Rangers with Morelos playing up front is a reminder of the days of Viera and Keane where you were just waiting for the player to explode and inevitably get sent off.

I suppose the players concerned were so good that the managers thought they were always a risk worth taking because they would contribute greatly to winning games-I can't think of any players like that any more at the top level in England since Suarez and Costa moved on.

He does always look ready to pop. He is managing to keep a lid on it though. Since 18/19, where he got a barely fathomable 16 yellows and 5 reds in 48 games, he has had 14 yellow cards and 2 reds in 74 matches.

if they turn up on the front page of BBC Football i'll read the headline

I couldn't name one of their players but Lennon is still the manager and Slippy G manages Rangers

A bit early to comment on St Stevie but he seems to be doing a good job

...difficult to know if he's the next Ferguson or just another Ian Dowie!

Agreed. He needs a job in a proper league first.

Interestingly I have a soft spot for St Mirren having had a panini football sticker of one of their players when I was a nipper.

Tony Fitzpatrick presumably - that’s the sticker I used to get loads of.
