Ain’t working with Bale - he’s lost his cutting edge and is quite frankly a passenger. Was telling in his press conference that he mentioned a few times tonight his side improved “after 60 minutes” - almost the exact time Bale was taken off. Perhaps a dig? The concerning thing for Spurs is his replacement is Moura - who - aside from one excellent night in Ajax, has been underwhelming in a Spurs shirt
I felt the summer was a missed opportunity for them as they had the base to build an OK squad but didn’t quite manage to achieve it. At full strength they have, IMO, a title contending midfield and attack but their defence constantly lets them down and their backup players aren’t good enough, with the likes of Winks, Sissoko, Lucas just not performing well enough. I’m surprised they only brought in Rodon as CB this summer as although he’s a trier, he probably isn’t Premier League levels, never mind Spurs
Mourinho needs to pick it up quickly otherwise you’d expect the grumblings to escalate and Jose will start falling out with more players. So far, he seems to have fallen out with N’Dombele, Alli, and it looks like Aurier has added to that list
